Terri Thal was very much a part of the folk music world in 1960s Greenwich Village, New York. Few people know that she was 21-year-old Bob Dylan's first manager prior to his contract with Albert Grossman and Columbia Records. She also managed musician Dave Van Ronk (who was her husband), and others to include the Roche sisters, Paul Geremia and The Holy Modal Rounders. She booked performances at coffee houses, clubs and basket houses. On 6 September 1961, she recorded a set from a young Bob at The Gaslight Café – it is the first known live recording of his original songs - known to Dylan fans as the First Gaslight Tape! Terri took this 'audition' tape to clubs to try to get him gigs – and she still owns the original reel-to-reel tape! She had many friends in Greenwich Village including Suze Rotolo and a number of seminal 1960s folk musicians. When Dave Van Ronk first saw young Bob performing in a club in Greenwich Village he said 'I just heard this kid who's a fucking genius. You've got to hear him.' Within a few days I heard him play and agreed with Dave. Bob Dylan asked me, 'Would you get me gigs?' Terri Thal has two passions: folk music and social justice. This is a personal story of the world of folk music in 1960s New York written by a Jewish woman from Brooklyn who, although not a musician, was an intrinsic part of this scene. Terri describes Greenwich Village as a community that was supportive, musically exciting and one in which people had fun.Terri tells us what it was like to hang out in the Village coffee houses, to host folk singers like Tom Paxton and Phil Ochs who hung out at her apartment, and to be a manager. We hear her view and involvement of the 1960s socialist organizations, and how she later merged her professional work in not- for-profit agencies.

Curious Dave's Behavior Journey reveals the ground-level events of the author's life for the past thirty-five years. Dave uses examples of unhealthy and healthy behavior to support the need for us to improve our character. He believes that most of our unhealthy behaviors are only being human and can be improved. This book is amazing because it reveals views of organizational and individual behaviors that most of us never see. Purely by accident, Dave was placed in office locations where it was easy to eavesdrop on management meetings. He learned some very disturbing information. Many leaders and managers make decisions based on their insecurities; and often these decisions cause the demise of the organization. Dave has conducted studies in three types of personal behavior. These studies, like the eavesdropping, reveal that we must improve our character. The studies were performed over five years. The studies were about personal driving habits, safety and security habits, and sexual arousal. His conclusions are fresh and rather alarming in some areas. And in some cases the findings are riveting. The book represents a great view of what is going on in America and how we can improve and improve our country.

Dave Matthews Band celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2016, a milestone few bands achieve. How did the group build and retain an audience so devoted that they stuck with DMB through more than a quarter century? Dave Matthews Band FAQ answers this question and many more, exploring the group’s history in detail from a variety of angles. Natives of the college rock circuit of the southern Atlantic seaboard, DMB became part of a close-knit group of similarly minded jam bands that spread across the USA during the 1990s. Thanks to a grassroots following that eagerly traded tapes of live DMB shows, the band cultivated a dedicated fan base that crossed over into the mainstream. Dave Matthews Band FAQ traces this evolution, documenting the culture of Charlottesville, Virginia, at the dawn of the ’90s, detailing the group’s peers and examining their catalog, both live and studio, in detail. Collectively, these chapters explain everything there is to know about the most popular jam band in history.
