"Fish Eyes is the story of Meena, a classically trained Indian dancer who, despite being obsessed with Bollywood movies and her dance career, just wants to be like the rest of her high-school friends. When she develops a massive crush on Buddy, the popular boy at school, Meena contemplates turning down an incredible opportunity to pursue him, even if he barely notices her. Boys With Cars follows Naz, also a classically trained Indian dancer, who dreams of getting out of small town Port Moody to attend the University of British Columbia. But when Buddy causes a stir over Naz at school, Naz's university plans begin to crumble quickly. Let Me Borrow That Top centres on Candice, a girl who appropriates Meena's Indian dance skills and bullies Naz after a nasty rumour spreads through the halls of their high school. But like her two enemies, Candice shares a passion for Indian dancing, and has just been accepted to the Conventry School of Bhangra. Will she leave behind the comforts of home to pursue her dreams?"--Publisher.

There are many questions that fishermen ask themselves. Why do certain lures appeal to certain types of fish? How does the physical make-up of a type of fish affect its hunting strategy? Do fish learn to avoid lures and hooks? In Through the Fish’s Eye, these questions, and much more are answered. A classic book written by some of the best names in the business, Through the Fish’s Eye offers a new perspective on the art of fishing by breaking down the behavior of the fish and tying it into their biological make-up. Skyhorse Publishing is proud to publish a broad range of books for fishermen. Our books for anglers include titles that focus on fly fishing, bait fishing, fly-casting, spin casting, deep sea fishing, and surf fishing. Our books offer both practical advice on tackle, techniques, knots, and more, as well as lyrical prose on fishing for bass, trout, salmon, crappie, baitfish, catfish, and more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to publishing books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked by other publishers and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

"An absolutely brilliant and singularly indescribable book, Fish Eyes for Pearls is an extraordinary journey into a woman's life. One of the bravest, most unique and compelling self-examinations I have ever read- I was blown away " -Henry Jaglom The phrase 'fish eyes for pearls' is coined in an ancient book of internal alchemy, prompting the question, in this world veiled in illusion, how does one discern the precious from the common or worthless? And then, how might the ordinary be transformed into something extraordinary? Lead on a mission to gather and liberate ghosts, the artist navigates the thorny and humbling landscape of relationships, society, and the unseen realms. With canvas, words and camera lens, she turns life into art and art into a life.

In The Fish's Eye: Essays about Angling and the Outdoors, Ian Frazier explores his lifelong passion for fishing, fish, and the aquatic world. He sees the angler's environment all around him-in New York's Grand Central Station, in the cement-lined pond of a city park, in a shimmering bonefish flat in the Flordia keys, in the trout streams of the Rocky Mountains. He marvels at the fishing in the turbid Ohio River by downtown Cincinatti, where a good bait for catfsh is half a White Castle french fry. The incidentals of the angling experience, the who and the where of it, interest him as much as what he catches and how. The essays (including the famous profile of master angler Jim Deren, late proprietor of New York's tackle store, the Angler's Roost) contain sharply focused observations of the American outdoors, a place filled with human alterations and detritus that somehow remains defiantly unruined. Frazier's simple love of the sport lifts him to straight -ahead angling description that are among the best contemporary writing on the subject. The Fish's Eye brings together twenty years of heartfelt, funny, and vivid essays on a timeless pursuit where so many mysteries, both human and natural, coincide.

This book continues the tradition of the first two editions of the late W. S. Penn's original PVC Technology, and the extensively revised third (1971) edition prepared by myself and B. J. Lanham. In the present edition the original general format, and the arrange ment of chapters, have been largely preserved, but virtually nothing now remains of Penn's own text: a part of the contents is based on material from the 1971 TitowlLanham version (revised, updated and mainly rewritten): the rest is new, including, inter alia, several chapters specially contributed by experts from the plastics industry in the UK and Europe. The section listing international (ISO) and national (BS, ASTM and DIN) standards relevant to PVC, which was first intro duced (as Appendix 1) in the 1971 edition, proved a popularfeature: it has now been brought up to date and considerably extended. Two further appendices provide, respectively, comprehensive unit conver sion"tables (with additional information on some ofthe mostfrequently encountered units, and the SI units), and a list of many properties of interest in PVC materials, with definitions, typical numerical values, and references~to relevant standard test methods. For various reasons, work on this edition involved more than the usual quota of problems: I am truly grateful to the Publisher's Manag ing Editor, Mr G. B. Olley, for his understanding, patience, unfailing courtesy and friendly encouragement.
