Here is the "Open Sesame of life"-the hidden formula of how to use your subconscious mind for achievement and success, by the popular author of The Secret of the Ages. In every hallowed fable, legend, and maxim known the world over-from the parables of Christ to the tales of Ali Baba to the riddles of the alchemists-there hides a secret. For those with eyes to see it, this secret can be life-changing. It is so simple that it hides in plain sight, seen yet unseen every day. Writing with the characteristic precision and vividness that has made him one of the greatest inspirational authors of the past century, Robert Collier reveals this secret in his little-known classic, The Life Magnet. What is this great secret? Simply this: The images that you impress upon your subconscious mind-whether of abundance or lack, failure or success-outpicture the surrounding world in startling and unexpected ways. In The Life Magnet, Collier shows how to overcome mental obstacles and use this hidden power-which he variously calls the Divine Mind, the subconscious mind, the "Genii-of-your-Mind," and the "Open Sesame of life." Whatever the name, Collier illustrates how it works, why it works, how to summon it, and how to control it for higher good in your life.

"Joseph F. Keithley, a modern pioneer of instrumentation, brings you a fascinating history of electrical measurement from the ancient Greeks to the inventors of the early twentieth century. Written in a direct and fluent style, the book illuminates the lives of the most significant inventors in the field, including George Simon Ohm, Andre Marie Ampere, and Jean Baptiste Fourier. Chapter by chapter, meet the inventors in their youth and discover the origins of their lifelong pursuits of electrical measurement. Not only will you find highlights of important technological contributions, you will also learn about the tribulations and excitement that accompany the discoveries of these early masters. Included are nearly 100 rare photographs from museums around the world. THE STORY OF ELECTRICAL AND MAGNETIC MEASUREMENTS is a ""must read"" for students and practitioners of physics, electrical engineering, and instrumentation and metrology who want to understand the history behind modern day instruments." Earth’s endemic life exists on an active planet, and its physical characteristics shape its development by affecting it in many ways. The planet’s magnetic field plays its part in that scenario. In this new book, the author concentrates on this little-understood aspect of terrestrial life’s existence. In an all-pervasive way, Earth’s natural magnetism imparts a pulse to the life forms that exist on the planet. From the very simplest to the most complex, organisms cannot ignore their natural magnetic environment. A lot of recent research into this phenomenon has been collated and reviewed by the author. In this book, he appraises the evidence from that research in a scientific yet interesting manner.

But her hot new look has a downside. She's attracting lots of guys who all have one thing in common: they're jerks. And stealing the attention of all the guys in school doesn't endear her to the girls either. Chelsea finally finds a true friend in Janelle Parker, and a non-jerk, Nicholas, catches her eye. Janelle keeps telling her to be herself, but Nicholas is the only guy around who doesn't give her a second look. Can Chelsea and Janelle come up with a plan to get his attention? Or will Chelsea's new image ruin everything? Teen favorite and bestselling author Melody Carlson helps girls uncover the real source of beauty in this true-to-life story of young love, friendship, and being yourself.

The TV series that was never made and that youÕve never heard of celebrates its 40th year with an exhaustive retrospective guide! Growing from a child's game, the bizarrely-titled The Magnet Editor ran for ten years and a breathtaking 47 series. In bringing the series to life, Nick Goodman drew from 70s pop culture including Doctor Who and The New Avengers, and shared it only with his bewildered mother and childhood friends. Jo Bunsell was one such friend and soon the pair would be transported into a shared universe of preposterous Ð and badly designed Ð monsters and non-stop adventure with their extraordinary and strangely-named hero, Cabin Relese. Goodman and Bunsell open up their archive of materials and memories, and take you on a roller-coaster ride into their world! Magnet Memories is an episode guide, a frank, critical, incredulous and nostalgic reflection, a snapshot of childhood in the 70s and 80s... and it's possibly the most wonderfully bonkers cult TV book ever published!

The Committee to Assess the Current Status and Future Direction of High Magnetic Field Science in the United States was convened by the National Research Council in response to a request by the National Science Foundation. This report answers three questions: (1) What is the current state of high-field magnet science, engineering, and technology in the United States, and are there any conspicuous needs to be addressed? (2) What are the current science drivers and which scientific opportunities and challenges can be anticipated over the next ten years? (3) What are the principal existing and planned high magnetic field facilities outside of the United States, what roles have U.S. high field magnet development efforts played in developing those facilities, and what potentials exist for further international collaboration in this area? A magnetic field is produced by an electrical current in a metal coil. This current exerts an expansive force on the coil, and a magnetic field is "high" if it challenges the strength and current-carrying capacity of the materials that create the field. Although lower magnetic fields can be achieved using commercially available magnets, research in the highest achievable fields has been, and will continue to be, most often performed in large research centers that possess the materials and systems know-how for forefront research. Only a few high field centers exist around the world; in the United States, the principal center is the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL). High Magnetic Field Science and Its Application in the United States considers continued support for a centralized high-field facility such as NHFML to be the highest priority. This report contains a recommendation for the funding and siting of several new high field nuclear magnetic resonance magnets at user facilities in different regions of the United States. Continued advancement in high-magnetic field science requires substantial investments in magnets with enhanced capabilities. High Magnetic Field Science and Its Application in the United States contains recommendations for the further development of all-superconducting, hybrid, and higher field pulsed magnets that meet ambitious but achievable goals.
