Mobile Web Information Systems

This book presents a framework for mobile information systems, focusing on quality of service and adaptability at all architectural levels. These levels range from adaptive applications to e-services, middleware, and infrastructural elements, as developed in the "Multichannel Adaptive Information Systems" (MAIS) project. The design models, methods, and tools developed in the project allow the realization of adaptive mobile information systems in a variety of different architectures.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Mobile Web and Information Systems, MobiWIS 2014, held in Barcelona, Spain, in August 2014. The 24 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 75 submissions and cover topics such as: mobile software systems, middleware/SOA for mobile systems, context- and location-aware services, data management in the mobile web, mobile cloud services, mobile web of things, mobile web security, trust and privacy, mobile networks, protocols and applications, mobile commerce and business services, HCI in mobile applications, social media, and adaptive approaches for mobile computing.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10 th International Conference on Mobile Web Information Systems, MobiWIS 2013, held in Paphos, Cyprus, in August 2013. The 25 papers (20 full research papers, 4 demonstration papers, and one abstract of the keynote speech) presented were carefully reviewed and selected from various submissions. The papers cover the following topics related to mobile Web and Information Systems (WISs), such as mobile Web services, location-awareness, design and development, social computing and society, development infrastructures and services, SOA and trust, UI migration and human factors, and Web of Things and networks.

This book constitutes the revised selected papers of the workshops of the 10th International Conference on Mobile Web Information, MobiWIS 2013, held in Paphos, Cyprus, in August 2013. The conference hosted two workshops: the First International Workshop on Future Internet of Things and Cloud, FICloud 2013, focusing on the Internet of Things and its relation with cloud computing and the Fourth International Workshop on Service Discovery and Composition in Ubiquitous and Pervasive Environments, SUPE 2013, addressing the issues that characterize automatic service composition in ubiquitous and pervasive computing. The 14 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from various submissions.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Mobile Web and Intelligent Information Systems, MobiWIS 2018, held in Barcelona, Spain, in August 2018. The 15 full papers together with 2 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 50 submissions. The papers of the MobiWIS 2018 deal with areas such as: mobile web and apps, wireless sensor networks, web services, cloud services, web applications, and various web technologies.

This book contains the thoroughly refereed and revised best papers from the 9th International Conference on Web Information Systems and Technologies, WEBIST 2013, held in Aachen, Germany, in May 2013, organized by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC), and co-organized by the RWTH Aachen University. The 15 papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 143 submissions. The papers were selected from those with the best reviews also taking into account the quality of their presentation at the conference. The papers are grouped into parts on Internet technology, Web interfaces and applications, society, e-business and e-government, Web intelligence, and mobile information systems.

This book contains the best papers from the International Conference on Web Inf- mation Systems and Technologies (WEBIST 2007), organized by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC), endorsed by IW3C2, and held in Barcelona, Spain. The purpose of WEBIST is to bring together researchers, engineers, and practit- ners interested in the technological advances and business applications of web-based information systems. It has four main topic areas, covering different aspects of web information systems, namely, internet technology; web interfaces and applications; society, e-business and e-government; and e-learning. WEBIST 2007 received 367 submissions from more than 50 countries across all continents. After a double-blind review process, with the help of more than 200 - perts from the international program committee, and also after presentation at the conference, 23 papers were finally selected. Their extended and revised versions are published in this book. This strict selection made the conference appealing to a global audience of engineers, scientists, business practitioners, and policy experts. The - pers accepted and presented at the conference demonstrated a number of new and innovative solutions for e-business and web information systems in general, showing that the technical problems in this field are challenging and worth further R&D effort. The program of this conference also included three outstanding keynote lectures presented by internationally renowned distinguished researchers. Their keynote speeches reinforced the overall quality of the event.

The era of web technology has enabled information and application sharing through the Internet. The large amount of information on the Internet, the large number of users, and the complexity of the application and information types have introduced new areas whereby these issues are explored and addressed.
