April 5, 1874 Jeremiah Bradley O'Shea, JB to all his friends, is leaving his home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and headed west. He is leaving the only home he has ever known but even more he is hoping to leave behind the person he has become. He begins his quest, a baptism of sorts to begin a new life. His plan is to first find his brother and his family somewhere in the Wyoming Territory. There, he hopes to begin his own dream of owning a cattle ranch and rediscover the person he was before the Civil War. Before all of the killing, the death and destruction the war brought with it. During his trek JB quickly discovers things, much like in the past, are still the same where he is headed. Just like before, bad may not always be bad and what appears to be good most certainly is not always good. He continues to trust his instinct as he did in the war, maybe even more on this journey. Truly believing at the end of his quest he finds what his soul most desires, peace. Peace in knowing he has given everything he had to give. Not realizing how high the price would actually be. "Welcome, Tom Keilholtz, into the pantheon of great western writers. SOMEWHERE is an engaging, heartfelt road trip circa 1874 with a cast of unforgettable characters, including JB, a great leading man taking us on this scenic adventure into the West. Like the outdoorsman author, JB owns the ground he walks on here, and authenticity resonates on every page." - Robert Knott (Author of Revelation)

Zoe’s supposed to be living her dream-—but it’s empty. She’s an independent journalist walking the beaches of paradise every day, but she never expected to be doing that alone, with only her dog for company. Trying to find her footing after a nasty divorce, Zoe finds herself in counseling. Everyone relies on Adam-—but he’s reached a breaking point. Adam was born and raised on Maui, a true “local” who surfs to stay in shape and deal with his many sources of stress. The care of his mother, a busy contracting business, and a custody fight for his beloved step kids lead to a workplace confrontation that finally pushes him over the edge and sends him to anger management. Sometimes second chances need a little help. Adam and Zoe happen to share a therapist who gives them the same advice: try Internet dating. And though their Crazy Blind Date match-up ignites sparks neither have felt since high school, finding love again is a little bit terrifying when a heart’s already been bruised. ______________________________ Heartfelt, rich, inspiring—Neal’s fans will instantly fall in love with the charming cast of Somewhere on Maui. —Christine Nolfi, author of Treasure Me

Somewhere To Return By: Spencer Farmans Somewhere To Return contains nine engaging tales from the mind of Spencer M. Farmans, a lifelong Midwesterner from the city of Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The book fascinatingly examines people and landscapes, which span a time from innocent childhood to the reality of old age. The stories independently work as short stories yet are also an integral part of the complete novella. In “Mister Billy,” the book begins with a provocative observation of the book’s protagonist, Adam Franks, an eight-year-old little boy’s fear of a paralyzed neighbor, and how his fanciful illusions are about to dissolve into the reality of truth. “Of Fathers and Sons” addresses the terror that many people harbor about the obstacles in the wake of personal dreams (a central theme in the book) brought about by parents. The dilemma of holding to one’s dreams or selling out to the practical world of a safe survival mark the compelling lessons in “A Touch of Magic”, “A Diamond in the Ruff”, “First Love”, and the title of the book, as well as the title of the last story, “Somewhere To Return”. Also, much attention is paid to the importance of other human beings’ great influences as heroes or mentors upon the protagonist’s search for meaning and his attempt to fulfill dreams. Finally, interspersed throughout the book and accenting the stories are the graceful and beautifully colorful oil paintings of Rosalind Farmans Halikis.
