Mochie is an angel that lives in the stars. With the help of a powerful magnifying glass, she discovered planet earth and became interested in humans. During her explorations of the planet, she learned that love is a force that unites humans and motivates them to do extraordinary things. One day she decides to lose her wings to be able to feel the same love. But she is an angel and her path to the human world is almost impossible! I suspected but had doubts as my daughter read along, which was a fantastic little surprise. The standout for me is definitely the illustrations, which Litzi Y. Umana has made as a star in its own right. It is a perfect blend of effervescent, magical hues, and imagery that is so beautiful that we occasionally lingered on the page to take it all in. It’s an adorable story about a little angel who wanted to go to earth and find a family. Mochie is a cute main character that you can’t help but love and enjoy reading about. I love how the story gives sort of an explanation as to where souls come from and when they decide to be born as humans. The illustrations are also beautifully done and go along perfectly with the storyline. Litzi Y. Umana has created a wonderful children’s book. It’s definitely one I would recommend to friends with children. I also look forward to reading more of her work.
