"Beautiful design makes a beautiful life." - Charles Lewis Tiffany "If you see that box, you know that there's love behind it and that the person who gave it to you really cares. Inside, there's a gift that is special. That blue - there's no other shade that represents anything else." - Elle Fanning They are astonishing, wonderful, and always, invariably modern: The windows at Tiffany's Fifth Avenue flagship are the stuff dreams are made of. Their appeal is universal, inviting passers by, old and young, to vanish through the looking glass and into a spellbinding world of robin's egg blue where even the most elusive of fantasies may come true. This hand-bound oversize Ultimate Collection edition presents a well-curated tour of the intricately crafted displays that continue to serve as references of the zeitgeist, from the legendary designer Gene Moore's Christmas and Valentine's displays to the neon creations of the current Tiffany & Co. creative team. Along with never-before-seen concept sketches, historical manuscripts, behind the scenes imagery and insights by cultural influencers and devotees of the world's global arbiter of design and style, Windows at Tiffany's revisits the whimsy and spirit of one of the world's most recognised brands, and elicits nostalgia for each reader's first blue box moment. 5 gatefolds, over 150 illustrations, including hand-tipped images, handcrafted limited edition in a luxury clamshell

NATIONAL BESTSELLER It’s 1893, and at the Chicago World’s Fair, Louis Comfort Tiffany makes his debut with a luminous exhibition of innovative stained-glass windows that he hopes will earn him a place on the international artistic stage. But behind the scenes in his New York studio is the freethinking Clara Driscoll, head of his women’s division, who conceives of and designs nearly all of the iconic leaded-glass lamps for which Tiffany will long be remembered. Never publicly acknowledged, Clara struggles with her desire for artistic recognition and the seemingly insurmountable challenges that she faces as a professional woman. She also yearns for love and companionship, and is devoted in different ways to five men, including Tiffany, who enforces a strict policy: He does not employ married women. Ultimately, Clara must decide what makes her happiest—the professional world of her hands or the personal world of her heart.

Windows were the major emphasis of Louis Comfort Tiffany's work. Yet today, most Tiffany windows have never been seen by the public. Alastair Duncan has tracked down virtually every window still extant and has documented examples that have disappeared or been destroyed. Along with providing photographs of over 200 windows, more than half in color, Duncan describes how the glass was made and the windows constructed; Tiffany's designers and the workings of the Window Department; his critics and international exhibitions; window themes; signatures; chronology; and a complete list of all Tiffany windows.

"Attracting thousands of New Yorkers and visitors every year, the elaborate windows at Bergdorf Goodman are one of New York's major spectacles. Legendary for their artistry, detail, and sly visual jokes, the surreal worlds conjured behind the glass are as varied and fully realized as a three-ring traveling circus, a Louis XIV confectionery, and an Edwardian portrait sitting. This volume presents the best of the past decade of these unforgettable sidewalk shadow boxes, in a covetable collector's edition."--Publisher's description.
