You will feel focused and inspired about the work you are about to undertake when you take notes in a way that frames your intentions. Your peers will ask you where you got this notebook as soon as they see you take it out to jot down requirements, sketch a design, draw, make a plan or invent something new. Engineers have been using these notebooks to develop a product and create their own legacy much like Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks. A unique engineering graph pad notebook with a technical drawing title block. The Technical Engineering Notebook is designed by Engineers for Engineers. It has an emphasized 5mm x 5mm grid and a classic technical drawing title block so you can put your engineering ideas on paper and put your name on your ideas. You have one of these handy when you need to conceptualize something just before putting it in an official document on your computer. Perhaps you keep a few available in your bag ready to take notes when you've learned something new, had feedback on one of your designs or just got a spark of innovation. Whatever the case may be an engineer typically has the right tools at hand and when it comes to a notebook for engineers, this fits the spec! Engineering IRL notebooks are designed based on what we know engineers will love and would be happy to show their engineering pride.

George Starkey—chymistry tutor to Robert Boyle, author of immensely popular alchemical treatises, and probably early America's most important scientist—reveals in these pages the daily laboratory experimentation of a seventeenth-century alchemist. The editors present in this volume transcriptions of Starkey's texts, their translations, and valuable commentary for the modern reader. Dispelling the myth that alchemy was an irrational enterprise, this remarkable collection of laboratory notebooks and correspondence reveals the otherwise hidden methodologies of one of the seventeenth century's most influential alchemists.

The Government's response is to back the majority of the Panel's conclusions and work on their recommendations has already begun. The report stated that elitism in the professions and a lack of focus on careers in schools mean that bright young people from middle class as well as lower income backgrounds are being shut out from professional jobs. The Panel chaired by Alan Milburn MP, concluded that without action to address Britain's closed shop mentality, tomorrow's generation of talented young people will miss out on a new wave of social mobility. There were over 80 recommendations in the final report with social mobility to be the top social policy priority. This response includes plans to raise aspirations by focusing on four factors that impact on people's life chances: the care and development of children in their early years, the quality of our schools, continued and high quality education and training post 16 and the skills our workforce.
