This issue contains a collection of papers presented at the 72nd Conference on Glass Problems at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Topics covered include glass melting; refractories; process control; legislation safety, and emissions; recycling and batch wetting.

The 78th Glass Problem Conference (GPC) including the 11th Advances in Fusion and Processing of Glass (AFPG) Symposium is organized by the Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering, The New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred University, Alfred, NY 14802 and The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC), Westerville, OH 43082. The Program Director was S. K. Sundaram, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering, The New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred University, Alfred, NY 14802. The Conference Director was Robert Weisenburger Lipetz, Executive Director, Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC), Westerville, OH 43082. Donna Banks of the GMIC coordinated the events and provided support. The Conference started with a half-day plenary session followed by technical sessions. The 75th Glass Problem Conference is organized according to the following themes: Glass Melting, Forming, Energy and Environmental, Refractories, Sensors and Control, Modeling.

This proceedings contains a collection of 21 papers presented at the 79th Conference on Glass Problems held November 4-8, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. Papers touch on topics critical to glass manufacturers including melting and combustion; refractories; forming; and environmental issues.

This book highlights recent developments in fiberglass research and technology development, including high-performance fiberglass chemistry; in-depth glass network structure information derived from the-state-of-the-art spectroscopic measurements, molecular dynamics simulations, and their correlations with properties; fiber surface chemistry in relation to sizing chemistry - a critical part of composite performance; fiber process stability; fundamental understanding of the batch-to-melt conversion processes and melt flow simulations; and environmental concerns such as energy efficiency and emission of volatile species, which are key to environmentally-friendly product manufacturing. The book aims to guide fiberglass researchers and manufacturers towards better awareness and, perhaps, provides potential options for global ecosystem management. More than 500 current references are included, which will enable researchers from fiber glass industry and research institution access to the most recent progress in fiberglass science and technology. Advances scientific understanding of fiberglass-forming processes, rising in popularity as a building material throughout the world; Describes the current advances in the structure and formation of fiber glass, beginning with chemistry, a wide range of characterizations, and processes, through to applications; Contains information on environmental aspects of fiberglass production, addressing energy consumption and emission.

This book features a collection of papers on the issues, intricacies, and challenges relating to energy and environmental science. It offers expert coverage of the various technological aspects of sustainable energy ecosystems, including processes that improve energy efficiency and reduce CO2 and other greenhouse emissions. It also addresses the need for sustainable technologies in extractive metallurgy, materials processing, and manufacturing industries with energy efficient technologies. Some additional contributions examine renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and biomass.

The 81st Conference on Glass Problems (GPC) was organized by the Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering, The New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred University, Alfred, NY 14802 and The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC), Westerville, OH 43082. The Program Director was S. K. Sundaram, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering, The New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred University, Alfred, NY 14802. The Conference Director was Bob Lipetz, Executive Director, Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC), Westerville, OH 43082. The GPC Advisory Board (AB) included the Program Director, the Conference Director, and several industry representatives. The Board assembled the technical program. Donna Banks of the GMIC coordinated the events and provided support. Due to world-wide COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was a virtual event. It started with a full-day plenary session followed by technical sessions.
