Though she certainly never expected to come face-to-face with her estranged husband again, Claire McCane didn't have the luxury of recovering from the shock his presence caused. For another tremendous surprise awaited her. Even more troubling than the fantastic emotions Joshua's unexpected arrival stirred, was the century-old, black-and-white photograph they discovered, which captured their exact likenesses. Now, reluctant partners on a treasure hunt, Claire suddenly found herself depending on Joshua again and feeling things she'd long forgotten. Would this lead to the reconciliation they both longed for?

STORYTELLING AT ITS BEST FOR TWEENS & TEENS - FAITH & FAMILY-FRIENDLY - Book 1 in the Footsteps in the Canyon Adventure Series Thirteen-year-old Caitlyn knew that many feet had walked over the beautiful high meadow and into the deep rugged canyon she loved so much near her family’s guest ranch in the Oklahoma Panhandle. In addition to the hooves, padded paws, claws, and talons that still roamed this untamed land, there were the footsteps of boots, shoes, and moccasins of centuries past that had left their mark with stories to be told. What Caitlyn didn’t know was just how personal all those stories would become as she and her homeschooled friends left their own footsteps in the canyon. This exceptionally researched historical fiction series for tweens and teens combines stories from the present day with those of the settlers pushing West in the late 1800s and from the lives of the Kiowa Indians a century earlier. A GIFT FROM THE PAST (Story 1) Caitlyn’s discovery of a tragedy in the canyon by her home was unexpected. That day, she was only wishing to rest her eyes from staring at the computer screen and at the puzzle called mathematics. But this discovery was a different kind of puzzle, and with each piece she set in place, it squeezed her heart a little more. Yet she was drawn to it like a moth to a flame and would cherish it for the rest of her life. THE BIG WIND (Story 2) Over the years, many people had lived on the high meadow beside the box canyon, including those of the tipi village a hundred years ago. Now, thirteen-year-old Caitlyn lives on the same high meadow. She visits the same canyon with the river running through it. She feels the same sunshine and rain and even the whirling cone of wind dropping out of the clouds—that fearsome funnel of air and debris known as the twister. Staying safe would not be easy. This book is from the musings in my personal reflective blog , A Gift From The Journey. In my musings it is my hope that the reader might find one aspect of my musings helpful in their lives. In life we can feel that we are alone in our experiences. It is my experience that there is always someone else that my have had a similar journey. The sense of isolation is lifted when we know that we are not the only one on any given path. In my musings I am often struck by how many similar themes that have happened in my life. Others have also shared some of those experiences/themes. I am grateful for the many paths on my journey and I hope that you will enjoy accompanying me on my journey. I have received many gifts in my life. There have been many individuals who have touched my spirit and in that moment my life was changed. In my life the bridge builders that I have known are responsible for much of my success. Without them I would have been blind when a new path opened. I have a personal belief that whether we have a positive moment in life or a negative moment in life that each moment becomes our teacher. It is in the transcending of these moments that our greatest gift of wisdom becomes our blessing. I hope that you enjoy this journey with me.

A gift from the stars can change your life. Miss Elizabeth Ashby loves astronomy. She especially enjoys her once-in-a-lifetime chance to observe the Great Comet of 1811. The man who emerges from the vehicle doesn’t see her, but as he reenters his craft to fly away, he drops a small red stone. The stone from the stars glows and sends waves of warmth and something else through Elizabeth. Her incipient cold disappears, her illness-prone mother shakes off her maladies, and everyone else who comes near the stone, which Elizabeth wears as a pendant, feels in the pink of health. I have travelled for more than 20 years and visited 51 countries on my own. I don't have a camera but write poems instead! My poems cover a huge gamut of experiences. I have captured the weird, the wonderful, heartbreaking, humorous, inspirational and moving aspects of my travelling and life. I have written poems celebrating the inner child in all of us, the secret of Happiness and in honour of another aspect of life... Death. I have also written many personal poems for people whom in some cases I have only met once and unlikely to meet again. My personal poems are thought provoking and motivational. There is a spiritual depth to them too and almost miraculously they zoom in on and highlight the source of a person’s fears and woes and offer release and solutions. I honestly can’t say how I do this, as not only has the individual not talked about their pain to me, in most cases they have buried it from themselves. My poems acknowledging their problems with heartfelt advice and hope bring enlightenment and tears of wonderment, to me too! Most of my poems are written at night in a trance-like state and I wake up in the morning to reams of paper. Sometimes I have to look up words in the dictionary as I don’t know what they mean or even if they exist, and I am amazed to find they are words which express exactly what I am trying to say! Even Oprah Winfrey visiting a murderer in prison is the inspiration for one of my trance-like channelled poems! I feel the prisoner's subconscious was speaking through me and what develops is truly incredible and alarming. My poems are cherished by me. "I have the armour to fight life's lions" and "I have captured the Gift of Happiness within my heart" Even people who don't like poems love mine passionately. They all rhyme and have a readable, enjoyable flow to them. Nobody hears one without wanting to hear another. Last night I dreamed of a beautiful angel called Seraphina who told me she was my travel companion. I feel she should share some credit for my wondrous gift and now have the title for my book which has eluded me for many years.
