Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) dependent hypertension, diabetes featured by hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, hyperhomocysteinemia, overweight or obesity etc., represent the major types of endocrine and metabolic disorders which contribute most to the development of atherosclerosis-based cardiovascular diseases.
