Having learned the truth of her origins, Nephteros flees from Archdemon Bifrons. While being pursued by a chimera into Zagan’s territory, she has a fateful encounter with Angelic Knights. Meanwhile, Nephy and Zagan have finally confessed their feelings to each other, but neither of them have any idea how to act like a normal couple. After getting some much-needed advice, Zagan learns of a mysterious event know as a “date” and goes on a research trip in town.

Zagan is feared by the masses as an evil sorcerer. Both socially awkward and foulmouthed, he spends his days studying sorcery while beating down any trespassers within his domain. One day he's invited to a dark auction, and what he finds there is an elven slave girl of peerless beauty, Nephy. Having fallen in love at first sight, Zagan uses up his entire fortune to purchase her, but being a poor conversationalist, he has no idea how to properly interact with her. Thus, the awkward cohabitation of a sorcerer who has no idea how to convey his love and his slave who yearns for her master but has no idea how to appeal to him begins.

Nephy learns of Zagan’s impending birthday from Alshiera, which is information that Zagan himself doesn’t even know. Meanwhile, Zagan also learns from Orias that Nephy’s birthday is coming within the month, and the two Archdemons decide to mark that day as Nephteros’s birthday as well. Much like Nephy, however, Zagan is ignorant of how birthdays work as he tries to plan a surprise for her. The entire castle is in a celebratory mood, but dark clouds loom over the horizon.
