My season began in 2009 and lasted 10 years. I call it the Perfect Storm. It had two halves - before and after. Before was when I drifted from God. After was when I re-anchored in God's Word. It was a season created by finances, health, family, and career issues all occurring at the same time. It was a season filled with stress, self-hatred, sadness, rejection, fear and loss. The problems became so overwhelming, thoughts of suicide took over. I began to think how my death would be a relief - not just for me but also for those whom my problems had touched. What a thought! That my family would welcome my death. Then one day my Mom noticed how lifeless I was and told me it was time to stop drifting and time to re-anchor. Re-anchor myself in God's Word. As she put it, "go to the well and drink the Living Water".So, I pressed into God's Word and discovered Scripture that would help me to understand, manage and survive my Season of Struggle. I was still in my season, but the re-anchoring had begun. When you are knee deep in a season, it is very difficult to see God's movement. You are so focused on surviving you have no thoughts of thriving. When you anchor yourself in God's Word you will discover Scripture that teaches and empowers you to know that even though there are times we may not hear, feel or see Him in our lives - God is there always. I encourage you today to anchor yourself in God's Word. Expect to be refreshed, renewed, restored. Expect to increase your faith, trust, hope and joy. Expect to receive knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Expect to draw nearer to God. Expect to see, hear, feel, and taste the goodness of God.I pray that the sharing of Scripture will help someone who is struggling to understand that - you are not alone; you are loved; you are worthy; you are a daughter/son of the King.

Most of us are regular people who have good days and bad days. Our lives are radically ordinary and unexciting. That means they're the kind of lives God gets excited about. While the world worships beauty and power and wealth, God hides his glory in the simple, the mundane, the foolish, working in unawesome people, things, and places. In our day of celebrity worship and online posturing, this is a refreshing, even transformative way of understanding God and our place in his creation. It urges us to treasure a life of simplicity, to love those whom the world passes by, to work for God's glory rather than our own. And it demonstrates that God has always been the Lord of the cross--a Savior who hides his grace in unattractive, inglorious places.Your God Is Too Glorious reminds readers that while a quiet life may look unimpressive to the world, it's the regular, everyday people that God tends to use to do his most important work.

This compelling, story-driven message shows how those who persist through the burnout and valleys of the “middle” will find that miracles await them on the other side. If you've ever been on a long trip with small children, you've no doubt heard, "Are we there yet?" Maybe you've felt that same way as you have journeyed with God. It’s the midway point where most of us feel impatient and frustrated. It's also where our hidden doubts find their voice. Where most beginnings start with energy and expectation for all that is ahead, and endings bring the joy of completion as you arrive at your desired destination, the middle is different. This midpoint can too quickly become a low point, as energy is lacking and enthusiasm wanes. Yet how well you handle the middle reveals what is in the “middle” of you. The disciples found—in the middle of a lake—a revelation of Jesus that they had never seen on the shore. In the middle is where new navigational skills are found. It's also where some of the most significant lessons are learned. In Miracle in the Middle, you’ll learn how to: Candidly face the realities of life’s frustrations and respond to them biblically Persist in your efforts in your marriage, family, career, and ministry Navigate burnout during life’s valleys Gain eternal perspective on temporary situations Find strength in the struggle, passion to persist, wisdom in weariness, and joy for the journey.

This new edition replaces both The Pursuit of Holiness (ISBN 9781576839324) and the study guide (ISBN 9781576839881) by combining both resources into one volume "Be holy, for I am holy," commands God. But holiness is something that is often missed in the Christian's daily life. According to Navigator author Jerry Bridges, that's because we're not exactly sure what our part in holiness is. In The Pursuit of Holiness, he helps us see clearly just what we should rely on God to do--and what we should take responsibility for ourselves. As you deepen your relationship with God, learn more about His character, and understand the Holy Spirit's role in holiness, your spiritual growth will mature. The included study guide contains 12 lessons.
