The present publication is the result of several years study of Actenodes and Chrysobothris and comprises all the species of these genera found in the mainland of America, north of Mexico, but including Lower California, the fauna of which is very similar to that of the desert regions of the Southwestern States.

This volume brings together much hitherto highly scattered information on lacewings and their allies known from Malesia. It includes keys to generic level, notes on the diversity and representation of each genus, and comments on the faunal relationships within the region. Each of the twelve families is defined, and information on biology and any economic importance summarised. A regional checklist of all species recorded from Malesia and nearby areas, with original references to descriptions of all taxa. Use of the book by non-specialists is facilitated by illustrations of many characteristic and diagnostic structural features, and a glossary explains much of the technical terms employed.

Planned in five volumes, this new, critical Flora provides a definitive account of the native species, naturalized species, frequent garden escapes and casuals found in the British Isles. Full keys and descriptions should enable the botanist, researcher or informed amateur to name all plants occurring in the wild, plus some ornamental trees and shrubs. Detailed accounts of all the large apomictic genera are given and many infraspecific variants. Each species entry begins with the accepted Latin name, synonyms and the common English name. A detailed description follows, with separate descriptions being given for infraspecific taxa. Includes information on status, ecology and distribution. Clear black and white line drawings illustrate an extensive glossary and also illuminate the diagnostic features of a number of groups of plants.

Volume I of this monograph describes the morphology, geographic distribution, and biology of cerambycid beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) of four subfamilies (Prioninae, Disteniinae, Lepturinae, and Aseminae), comprising 124 species. Keys to taxa based on different developmental stages are presented here for the first time, host relationships explained, and the life cycle and ecology of each species assessed. This information forms the theoretical basis for resolving various practical problems.
