Doyle wrote a total of 56 short stories and four novels about Sherlock Holmes and his constant companion Dr. Watson.

The rugby player Staunton is missing. His friend, the rugby team coach, Cyril Overton, reaches out to Holmes and Watson begging them to take up the case.
