Man people who take a Baltic Sea cruise often have limited time and unfortunately arrive directly in time to board the ship or depart for home or another destination after debarking. But others allow time to visit Copenhagen and/or Stockholm before or after their cruise. This book is designed to introduce both Copenhagen and Stockholm as the vibrant and historic cities that they are in hopes of encouraging as many travelers as possible to plan on spending a couple of days in one or the other or both cities as part of their Baltic Sea voyage. And for those travelers who are not cruising, this book is a perfect guide to both of these Scandinavian capital cities. It is not, however, a thick all inclusive guide book that will spoon feed every last detain, And it does not contain hundreds of hotel and restaurant listings in all grades down to the economy level. I like to claim that my books are aimed at the traveler who enjoys four and five-star accommodation and dining. And when it comes to what to see and do, I attempt to present the most important venues, not necessarily the ones that the travel brochures tout as being the most popular. I want my readers to become familiar with the places they visit. It is one thing to be a tourist and another to be a traveler. My guides are concise and filled with the kinds of details that will make you a real traveler - one who comes to know the place being visited. I do have an identical version of this book published in black and white at a lower cost. But this edition is done on glossy paper and in full colour to help bring the cities of Copenhagen and Stockholm to life. I have visited each city over 20 times and have explored every corner, including local neighborhoods to be able to speak with authority. So I hope you will enjoy my book on Copenhagen and Stockholm, two of my favourite Scandinavian cities.
