Crystal Sells is a biker chick, not one of those honeys who hang on the back of a motorcycle with their arms around some random man. The self-proclaimed "baddest bitch on two wheels" likes to ride alone on what she calls her "steel." Crystal hustles knock-off designer purses and bootleg DVDs to make ends meet, until she meets Ray Jackson of the Phantom Cruz, a local motorcycle gang, and begins living the life of a wifey. When their sweet life goes sour, Crystal is forced from their home and finds herself working at a gentleman's club. Never one to let a bad situation keep her down, she comes up with a grand idea to market the dancers at the club. Before she knows it, she has turned one of her best friends, Lala, into an exotic dancing superstar; but the way Lala repays her catches Crystal off guard, and Crystal finds herself seeking revenge with the intent to end someone's life. Biker Chick gives new definition to a "ride or die chick."

These conversations are attentive not only to the areas of cultural studies and social science in general, but also to the studies of criminology, criminal justice, and public policy in particular.

Bike Lust roars straight into the world of women bikers and offers us a ride. In this adventure story that is also an insider’s study of an American subculture, Barbara Joans enters as a passenger on the back of a bike, but soon learns to ride her own. As an anthropologist she untangles the rules, rituals, and rites of passage of the biker culture. As a new member of that culture, she struggles to overcome fear, physical weakness, and a tendency to shoot her mouth off—a tendency that very nearly gets her killed. Bike Lust travels a landscape of contradictions. Outlaws still chase freedom on the highway, but so do thousands of riders of all classes, races, and colors. Joans introduces us to the women who ride the rear—the biker chick, the calendar slut straddling the hot engine, the back-seat Betty at the latest rally, or the underage groupie at the local run. But she also gives us the first close look at women who ride in their own right, on their own bikes, as well as a new understanding of changing world of male bikers. These are ordinary women’s lives made extraordinary, adding a dimension of courage to the sport not experienced by males, risking life and limb for a glimpse of the very edge of existence. This community of riders exists as a primal tribute to humanity's lust for freedom.

In Biker Chicz: The Attraction of Women to Motorcycles and Outlaw Bikers, the authors provide the reader with an intriguing snapshot of the culture through women who have an intimate knowledge of the lifestyle. Although many people question their motivation to be involved with a lifestyle that most people find frightening and repulsive, to some women there is an attraction to the motorcycles and the outlaw bikers that permeate the culture. Publisher’s note: Biker Chicz: The Attraction of Women to Motorcycles and Outlaw Bikers is a condensed version of the previously published book entitled Biker Chicks: The Magnetic Attraction of Women to Bad Boys and Motorbikes (2009 Allen & Unwin), which is no longer in print and was available only in Australia and New Zealand.

In Biker Chicz of North America, Edward Winterhalder and Wil De Clercq have compiled in-depth profiles of twenty-two fascinating women who ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Each chapter features an individual whose life story is compelling, intriguing, fascinating, and inspirational. While each woman featured in this book is unique and extraordinary in her own right, there are, not surprisingly, certain attributes they all have in common. In addition to being avowed motorcycle riders they live to ride and ride to live they are successful, intelligent, freethinking, adventurous, creative, inspiring, and tenacious. They are women who have followed their dreams and dared to live life on their own terms. All are survivors who boldly took on challenges that many of us men or women would find daunting. Some of them came by their success easily, others by triumphing over adversity. Despite their common traits, most are as different as night and day. Some are introverted, others extroverted; some are family oriented, others are loners. They ll be the first to admit, however, that without their Harleys, they would not be who they are today. Their beloved motorcycles are what defines them and what sets them apart from their nonriding sisters.

A Bird's Eye View of American Women describes women in a cynical, sarcastic, humorous fashion from an outside, "Bird's Eye," point of view. The main focus is to bring forth novel insights about women. Numerous illustrations are included to enhance the written content. A few selections detail important issues concerning both sexes. For example, in the "Office Worker" title, dangerous "gossipers" are discussed-ones who are always hunting, gathering, and blabbering personal information amongst others. Having been involved in healthcare training, the author shares behind-the-scenes footage of healthcare staff in a hospital. The "Psychopath" tells the true story of an emotionally disturbed female stalker on a quest for affection. There are twenty titles to entertain readers' hearts and minds. Those who have an affinity toward bathroom-type humor will surely appreciate some of the insights provided. In fact, it would be very surprising to the author and illustrator if at least a few internal smiles, if not outbursts of laughter, were not emanated. There is no other cynical 'humor book' like this one...enjoy.
