Who was Billy Soose, and for that matter, who is Gene Sebastian? I would suspect that even the most knowledgeable of boxing pundits would not be able to answer the questions: So who is Billy Soose?

Boxing In The Shadows is the story of many great Black fighters throughout the past century and puts their accomplishments within the context of the era that they fought in. This book is the seventh book that Mr. Donelson has written or co-written. I decided to write this book to share many memories, including funny stories, true short stories (oddities) and funny quotes, to help improve the image of boxing, one of the oldest of all known sports. Also the one sport that probably needs the improvement the most. To the best of my knowledge, all the stories contained herein are true. You would need the world’s greatest imagination to make up many of them.
