Obra avalada por la Sociedad Española de Cirugía Ocular Implanto Refractiva (SECOIR) que tiene como objetivo proporcionar un contenido novedoso en un área de la oftalmología que está adquiriendo una gran relevancia en la actualidad: la biomecánica corneal Esta monografía recoge las bases de la biomecánica corneal, dando así lugar a un libro que versa sobre la córnea, una parte del globo ocular que ha supuesto desde sus inicios como subespecialidad un desafío constante para cirujanos y clínicos y que está sujeta a una constante evolución. El contenido se distribuye a lo largo de 34 capítulos a través de los cuales se revisan de manera exhaustiva todos los conceptos vinculados con la biomecánica ocular, un novedoso enfoque que en el futuro contribuirá al desarrollo de nuevas técnicas o productos para el tratamiento de patologías de la córnea. La obra guarda un perfecto equiibrio entre texto e imágenes, y para ello se ha optado por ilustrar la mayor parte de los conceptos expuestos con imágenes y esquemas que faciliten igualmente la comprensión de los mismos.

As a degenerative disorder of the eye, keratoconus can cause substantial distortion of vision, with multiple images, streaking, and sensitivity to light all reported by patients. Keratoconus: Recent Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment updates ophthalmologists about the innovations that have occurred within the last decade, discussing the diagnostic imaging techniques that have been developed for keratoconus diagnosis, understanding of how examination techniques are related to the evolution of keratoconus, and how to indicate the different therapeutic tools that have been created for keratoconus over the last several years.
