A school Spanish course for beginners, Caminos Segunda Edicion has been fully revised and updated to cover the QCA Scheme of Work for Spanish. It is fully differentiated with activities at two levels of difficulty and additional material on differentiated worksheets provides practice in all four skills at two levels of ability. Additions to the second edition include a stronger focus on grammar, improved and extended ICT offerings and regular and rigorous assessment. The course has been improved to include comments from users, giving teachers the confidence that their students are provided with all the necessary support. Caminos 3 offers students complete preparation for GCSE/Standard Grade through full coverage of all five Areas of Experience, Grades A*-G. Mixed abilities are catered for in one carefully structured Student's Book by the use of symbols to indicate differentiated activities. Student motivation is encouraged through the use of material appropriate for the 14-16 year age group in both content and style. Full support for the teacher is provided through detailed notes, National Curriculum cross referencing, tapescripts and answers as well as general teaching advice. Student's Book and worksheet activities are supported by 7 cassettes of audio material.

The Caminos Spanish course places emphasis on cultural awareness of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries, providing pupils with an informed insight into the lives and concerns of their peers overseas. The communicative approach of the series means that pupils are encouraged from the start to express themselves, their feelings and opinions in the target language, acquiring all the language skills they need for effective communication.

While top-down policies and declarations have yet to establish equal status and opportunities for speakers of all languages in practice, activists and advocates at local levels are playing an increasingly significant role in the creation of new social imaginaries and practices in multilingual contexts. This volume describes how social actors across multiple domains contribute to the elusive goal of linguistic equality or justice through their language activism practices. Through an ethnographic account of Indigenous Isthmus Zapotec language activism in Oaxaca, Mexico, this study illuminates the (sometimes conflicting) imaginaries of what positive social change is and how it should be achieved, and the repertoire of strategies through which these imaginaries are being pursued. Ethnographic and action research conducted from 2013-2018 in the multilingual Isthmus of Tehuantepec brings to light the experiences of educators, students, writers, scholars and diverse cultural activists whose aspirations and strategies of social change are significant in shaping the future language ecology. Their repertoire of strategies may inform and encourage language activists, scholars, and educators working for change in other contexts of linguistic diversity and inequality.

Now in its second edition, this textbook is designed to lead adult beginners to a comprehensive knowledge of Spanish. It has been extensively updated and is accompanied by a web companion that hosts expansion exercises, activities, solutions and useful links for each unit, as well transcripts and brand new recordings of all audio examples.
