Bernie McMellon, a disabled WWII veteran. Born in West Virginia where many of his family were coal miners. Bernie left West Virginia in 1944, but West Virginia never left him. In 1947, he returned to West Virginia to claim a bride, Dixie, who stuck with him for sixty years. During those busy years, about ten of them, Bernie worked in the medical field as an x-ray specialist. In 1958 he formed his business as a manufacturer's representative with an office in Huntsville, Alabama. From this, he became a world traveler, representing companies in several countries. For the next twenty years, he traveled and worked in all of the lower 48 states, and several countries. but his heart never left west Virginia.
