The book contains the proceedings of the 14th International Symposium on Capture Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy and Related Topics held at the University of Guelph from August 28 through September 2, 2011. The proceedings cover topics of nuclear structure, nuclear reactions, nuclear astrophysics, fundamental symmetries in nuclei, statistical aspects of nuclei, and new techniques and applications, from forefront researchers in their fields.

This volume is a collection of invited talks, oral contributions and poster contributions devoted to advances in gamma-ray spectroscopy of various capture reactions. In agreement with the trend of previous meetings in the series, the symposium paid special attention to theoretical and experimental studies of nuclear structure at low energies and to nuclear astrophysics. The International Conferences on Capture Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy and Related Topics are the primary interdisciplinary low energy physics conference held in the world. This meeting alternates every three years between Europe and the U.S.A, and topics on the applications of nuclear physics are discussed. Included are nuclear astrophysics as well as nuclear energy and other potential uses for safeguards of nuclear weapons and homeland security.

The 10th International Symposium on Capture Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy and Related Topics covers several broad areas of theoretical and experimental nuclear science. This is the 10th in a series of conferences that alternates between the US and Europe and takes place every three years. Although originally focused on low-energy neutron capture reactions, the conference has expanded to include many more areas of current interest to the nuclear science community. The conference addresses the major areas of nuclear spectroscopy, nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, nuclear data, fundamental physics, capture reactions and applications of nuclear science.
