Circles Under The Clyde

It's 1975, two years before the murder of Delores Fogel shocked the Central Texas town of Elysium, setting up the chain of events that would lead to the post-millennium conclusion to the mystery in Murder In Elysium. Michael Lee “Mucho Love” Harper, Elysium's Chief of Police, has a double-murder on his hands, and this is the strangest killing of his career. The Childresses were wealthy and they had their fingers in every slice of local pie. They were, however, hermits, hoarders, and the owners of a chain of funeral parlors that stretched from the Gulf Coast to El Paso. Mucho Love, Elysium's sentinel, must delve deeply into the dark secrets of his own town in order to catch the killer and hold onto his job—a monumental task, because the powers-that-be want anything but a resolution.

Some 30 years after Glasgow turned towards regeneration, indicators of its built environment, its health, its economic performance and its quality of life remain below UK averages. This interdisciplinary study examines the ongoing transformation of Glasgow as it transitioned from a de-industrial to a post-industrial city during the 20th and 21st centuries. Looking at the diverse issues of urban policy, regeneration and economic and social change, it considers the evolving lived experiences of Glaswegians. Contributors explore the actions required to secure the gains of regeneration and create an economically competitive, socially just and sustainable city, establishing a theory that moves beyond post-industrialism and serves as a model for similar cities globally.
