From ancient times to the present, the history of Cyprus is provided in this useful reference, which includes hundreds of cross-referenced dictionary entries on its historical, political, social, cultural, and economic history.

This edited collection draws its authors from both sides of the island to give a rounded picture of musical culture from the beginning of the British colonial period until today. The authors consider: what is the role of different musics in defining national, regional, social and cultural identities in Cyprus; how do Cypriot alterities illuminate European projects of modernity; what has been the impact of westernization and modernization (and, conversely, of orientalization) on music in Cyprus? The book will be of interest to academics working in historical musicology, ethnomusicology, and the history and anthropology of Cyprus and of the entire Greek-Anatolian region.

This guidebook presents 44 graded walks spread across the island, covering both southern and northern Cyprus, with a slight focus on the central Troodos region. Clear description and mapping is presented for each route and a route summary table makes it easy to choose an appropriate walk. Growth moderated in 2023 with slowing consumption growth, lower services exports to Russia, and fading post-pandemic base effects. But growth has remained above the euro area (EA) average, supported by a continued recovery in tourism, expanding financial services and ICT activity, and strong investments. The labor markets are tight, with unemployment at a near two-decade low. Headline inflation dipped below 2 percent, but core inflation has been more persistent. Growth is expected to stabilize in 2024 and rise to 3 percent in the medium term.

A strategic outpost in the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus was vital to British imperial ambitions in the East as the Ottoman Empire grew increasingly fragile in the nineteenth century. Here, Gail Dallas Hook describes the British occupation of Cyprus from 1878 to 1914, during which British government, science, and capital investment were installed alongside a new British colonial community, building 'British Cyprus' long before the island became a formal part of the British Empire. Protectorate Cyprus further demonstrates how the British attempted to bring 'good government' to Cyprus yet failed to resolve the issues of Muslim and Greek Orthodox divisions. It is a unique representation of Britain's 'informal empire' before World War I that has been little studied. Protectorate Cyprus is a crucial addition to the history of the British Empire.
