Looking for a way to hint to your boss that perhaps it’s time to cut you some slack in the childcare department? Or perhaps you’ve been searching for a way to thank your accommodating boss because they've shown that they "get it". Dear Mommy’s Boss is a collection of humorous, fictional letters written by young children to their mothers’ bosses to thank them for cutting their mothers some slack while pregnant and/or while they raised their children. This is a perfect gift book for women to give to their bosses as a form of thanks when going on or returning from a maternity leave or vacation or on other special occasions when they want to express their thanks to their employers for making child-related concessions. In addition to providing heartfelt entertainment, seasoned with a healthy dose of sarcasm, this book examines the tricky balance between corporate responsibilities and parenting responsibilities and allows for reflection on how to take things in stride while remaining committed to the task at hand.

We’ve been okay so far because my mom works hard at a casino on the Strip. She puts in long days toiling away for a few bucks here and there. But now, Grace is sick. My mother can’t work anymore, and her heartless billionaire boss, Cameron Savage, has fired her, leaving us with nothing. Unless… … I become his “personal assistant”! What?!?! Who does Mr. Savage think he is? Okay, the billionaire’s got movie-star good looks with intense blue eyes, night-black hair, and a six pack made of steel beneath that fancy suit. But to my horror, Mr. Savage wants more than just an executive assistant. For this job, I have to be available 24/7, ready at the CEO’s beck and call. In short, I’ll belong to Cameron Savage in every way possible. He’s marking me as his. I’m his property. The problem is … … what happens if the alpha male puts a baby in my belly? Will he change his ways once he’s being called DADDY? This story is a forbidden, sweet and steamy tale filled with an OVER THE TOP hunky, growly badass of a CEO and a sassy, feisty girl with a strong will. Cameron Savage makes Maddy a dirty deal, but will she take it? No cheating, no cliffhangers, and always an HEA for my readers!

Then, just as you’re about to give it to them, they dump you like a hot rock because their mommy says you’re not good enough for their little boy. Seriously, bitch? I’ll show you not good enough with my fist in your nose. Then I get assigned to work for Tanner Wright, the bad boy billionaire CEO who thinks his money, good looks, and big bulge in his jeans can get him whatever he wants. And what he wants at the moment is to get into this girl’s pants. What he doesn’t know is, that’s a place where no man has gone before. The guy’s a billionaire douchebag and I’m a reluctant virgin. That combination could make for a very interesting workplace, indeed. TANNER WRIGHT It’s a lot of pressure, living up to a reputation like mine. When you have the looks, money, charm, and bedroom skills that I have, the world is your oyster. So many mansions to buy, exotic cars to drive, yachts to captain, and so many women to… well… you know what the ladies want from Mr. Wright. So, when Candice Carlson is assigned to work on a project for my company, it’s only fitting that I give her a shot at the brass ring. She’s young and brilliant and beautiful. And there’s something mysterious about her that draws me to her like a moth to a flame. She can try to resist all she wants, but when Tanner Wright wants something, you can bet the bank that he will get it; one way or another.

Nineteenth-century New Orleans was a diverse city. The French-speaking Catholic Creoles, whether black, white, or racially mixed-so different from the city's English-speaking residents-inspired intense curiosity and speculation. But none of the city's inhabitants evoked as much wonder as did the Sisters of the Holy Family, whose mission was to evangelize slaves and free people of color and to care for the poor, sick, and elderly. These women, whose community still thrives, are portrayed in an account written between 1896 and 1898 by one of their sisters, Mary Bernard Deggs, who shortly before her death made it her mission to record the remarkable historical journey the women had taken to serve those of their race. Although Deggs did not officially join the Sisters of the Holy Family until 1873, she was a student at the sisters' early school on Bayou Road and thus would have known, as a child, Henriette Delille, the founder and first mother superior of the Sisters of the Holy Family, and the other women who joined her. This account captures, in a most graphic way, the founding of the Sisters of the Holy Family in New Orleans in 1842 and the difficult years that followed. It was not until 1852 that the foundresses were able to take their first official vows and exchange their blue percale gowns for black ones (and it was 1873 before they were permitted to wear a formal religious habit). Shortly before Delille's death in 1862, Union forces seized the city, and Delille's successor, Juliette Gaudin, faced dire economic circumstances. The war and postwar years economically devastated New Orleans and its population. Freed slaves poured into the city, unintentionally adding themselves to the already overwhelming mission of the sisters. Those were the poorest and most uncertain years the sisters were to face. We know very little about Sister Mary Bernard Deggs herself, but her history of the early years of the Sisters o
