The story of my service in WWII. It describes the war environment in the US, my training and service in Destroyer Squadron 23, the battles at sea in the Pacific, my marriage during the war, my return home near the end of the war and finally my service in the Naval Reserve after discharge from active Navy duty. I have recounted numerous experiences that convey the sense and deep feelings of those of us who served during those difficult and glorious four years when so many were called to serve and many died defending our country.
