Examining one's life is arguably the central distinguishing characteristic of being human, and this wise and wonderful book is the perfect answer to Socrates's warning that the unexamined life is not worth living. Readers who merely read through the book's fascinating anecdotes will be entertained, but they will be seriously shortchanging themselves, for it is the guiding questions that provoke and inspire serious self-examination. As the calendar-like format of the book implies, these questions should be savored and pondered no faster than one page of questions per day. Levy and Parco continue to challenge our thinking as they did in their previous two Thinking Deeply About books. Echoes of Mind presents common topics in an uncommon way that encourages both reflection and introspection. Spending time with this book will be reassuring and yet challenging, even at times uncomfortable-but in all cases, rewarding. Daryl J. Bem, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus of Psychology Cornell University

People make love seem complicated. Intricate. Novels try to capture its intensity; music tries to rein in its soul.I've read every novel I could. I've lived and breathed every song that I could listen to. The sounds fill my unquiet mind. Then he came.Killian.He brought with him the beauty of silence that echoes through my soul and showed me love isn't complicated. It's simple. Beautiful. Some say love at first sight doesn't exist, that you can't find your soul mate at sixteen years old. Those are people rooted in reality, chained to the confines of life that dictates how you are meant to think. Killian broke those chains. He broke everything, shattered it so I can see that reality is overrated, that daydreams can somehow come to life.My life tumbled into darkness in the time after I met him, so dark I'm not sure I'll ever see the light again. But he is always at my side. His life means he knows how to navigate the dark and he can lead me out.I wade through the darkness with him at my side. We'll be together forever; I'm certain of that.Until I'm not.Note: This is book one of two. Killian and Lexie's story does not end here and will be continued in a following book.

In Doors to Ancient Poetical Echoes, his sixth and newest collection of poetry, author George E. shares his thoughts, mind, heart, and poetic words. His verse opens the door of not only the heart but also the mind to hear the word of truth and lightwords that begin the thought processes while offering inspiration. His inspirational poetry will lighten your steps and make them lively; he seeks to offer both healing and daring in his words. From The Dance of Life to Justice Wears a Blindfold, the poet presents his thoughts on the past and the future. This collection will make you fly and be happy at the same time! Justice Wears a Blindfold Justice is blind only so it cant see or be a witness to the past present and future injustices that is to be where truth runs like a horse fleeing from a group of marauding fleas and crimes that are committed in the name of justice. The statue in the court house should be changed to the three monkeys dont see, dont speak, and dont hear and then we can add a fourth monkey one that doesnt care!

The first white intruders in the area north of the Great Divide to the Murray River drained by the Goulburn, Loddon and Wimmera rivers were cattle and sheep ‘overlanders’ from the Sydney-side searching for green pastures in drought-affected NSW and a route to South Australia. Echo 76: THE NORTHERN CONQUEST – Drover’s accounts of overlanding sets the scene for the later Echo 83: REVIEWING THE FAITHFULL MASSACRE, WANGARATTA AND SCOURING THE OVENS. With a military escort, the wife of the Governor of VD Land Lady Jane Franklin wrote travel diaries and letters of her visit to Melbourne and ‘tour’ of Australia Felix in 1839. Sounding 5 introduces the journals of Protector Dredge camping with the Goulburn clans and is followed by Echo 79: THE HUTTON & MUNRO AFFAIRS, being the invasion of Djadja Wurrung country as revealed in Chief Protector Robinson’s journal for January 1840. This leads into Parker’s Mount Franklin Protectorate Station combined with shire history snippets of Maryborough, Avoca and Boort before a section on the Djadja Wurrung who survived colonization. Another group of shire histories cover Kyabram, Shepparton, Murchison, Benalla, Tallangatta, Benambra and Bendigo areas before Ian D Clark’s depiction of the box-ironbark forests and pre-1840s Aboriginal land tenure in north-central Victoria. Included here is an ecological section on ‘fire-stick farming’ replaced by agri-business. The fate of the Goulburn tribe, the Taungurong clans, and pioneer Carter’s early days on the Wimmera lead to echo 87: ORIENTING THE WERGAIA WIMMERA-MALLEE CLANS and then to EBENEZER – archaeology of an Aboriginal Mission Station. Sounding 5 closes with an echo on the bush-life experiences of battler William Kyle and for contrast reveals the dispossession role played by wealthy land speculators in echo 90: BEN BOYD – Royal Yacht Squadron Slaver.
