Effective Public Private Partnership In The Information Technology Sector

This study focuses on the importance of public-private partnership in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It discusses the concept of partnership and describes the activities of the public/government sector in providing an overall ICT support framework. The study also analyzes the implications of public-private partnership for small and medium-sized enterprises and examines related experiences in the European Union and the transition economies. In addition, an analysis is presented on countries that have transformed their economies by developing effective ICT industries. Views of the business community on public-private partnerships in Europe and also discussed.

Bringing together the latest research from both industry and academia, 'Information and Communication Technology for Education' explores new areas of research and development and discusses emerging issues facing the respective fields.

This volume presents the history and current state of the public-private partnership (PPP) sector in Russia. It analyzes the legal and institutional framework of PPPs as well as approaches and best practices for public administrations at federal and regional level to promote PPPs. Special attention is given to the management of PPP projects in different phases of their life cycle and to the legal and financial structuring of PPP projects. In addition, the contributions highlight best PPP practices in various sectors - from transport infrastructure to information technology - and also discuss international aspects of PPP. The volume is aimed at scholars in economics and public administration as well as public decision-makers interested in modern trends in the Russian economy and the development of successful business development.

Workshop participants offered a variety of suggestions to the National Science Foundation (NSF) and other federal agencies to improve the usefulness and relevance of data on industrial research and innovation, as well as to increase efficiency in collecting and processing the data. The suggestions dealt with the need to (1) clarify policy information needs; (2) improve the quality, coverage, and collection of existing data items; and (3) identify and collect new types of data.

In a time of diminished resources, the public sector is facing new challenges - ranging from meeting the needs of aging baby boomers and the massive millennial generation to coping with a national infrastructure deficit to fostering economic competitiveness. Addressing these challenges requires a collaborative effort by the public and private sectors to use the skills and resources of each to shape and carry out developments that respond to these challenges. As a result, public private partnerships (PPPs) in development, infrastructure, and public facilities are ever more essential. This book will arm public and private sector representatives with an understanding of the obstacles and opportunities inherent in PPPs, as well as provide a toolkit of best practices and lessons learned for the creation of effective PPPs.

This volume constitutes the refereed and revised post-conference proceedings of the 5th IFIP WG 5.15 International Conference on Information Technology in Disaster Risk Reduction, ITDRR 2020, in Sofia, Bulgaria, in December 2020.* The 18 full papers and 6 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 52 submissions. The papers focus on various aspects and challenges of coping with disaster risk reduction.
