Embracing The Kingdom S Blueprint Part Two

We are all called to be active in the Kingdom of God, fulfilling the Great Commission. We are all called to be disciples of God, and we all have a calling and have been empowered with gifts and abilities to establish the Kingdom of God in the hearts of man. Jesus showed us the blueprint of how to be a disciple. We are all, and not a few, called to follow this blueprint in accordance to the Great Commission, within various functions as the royal priesthood. Today we sadly sit with so mostly inactive disciples because of wrong teachings, thus disciples who believe they are not called to minister at all! It is time for all disciples to become true servants worth the salt and light in our corporate effort to proclaim the Good News far and wide so that God may be glorified and the lost saved.

The word Disciple in Greek is transliterated mathetes (literally, the learning one) and is derived from the verb manthano which means “to learn”. It means “one who learns instruction from another‟, or a disciple is likened to an apprentice who learns from his master tradesman. Thus, a disciple is a person that not only gains knowledge from the teacher but also acts upon it. This series offers a deeper insight into how to be a disciple, therefore, it offers a blueprint of what it means to follow the Lord. It is about embracing God’s Kingdom, His will, His way and His truth.

Who is Jesus? A mere historical figure? A man with a vision? A prophet? A teacher? A philosopher? It is simple. Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is God Himself. He is our Saviour, Redeemer, Master, the King of kings, Lord of Lords, our Teacher, our Messiah, our Hope, the Way, the Truth, the alpha and the omega, the one worthy to open the scrolls, and He is the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world was laid and He is the Lion that returns in all His Glory! Jesus is the most important person in the whole Bible. He's the most important person ever to walk this earth. He's the most important person for you to know. He's the King our world needs, the hero all our stories reveal we long for, and the Saviour we desperately need. He is the bread of life. He is the door to our salvation. He is the good shepherd. He is the resurrection and the life. He is the way and the truth and the life. He is the true vine. He is the Son of David, the Righteous King. He is the Word. He is the Balm of Gilead. Hs Blood still saves, heals, delivers and redeems! He is the author and finisher of our faith and unto Him comes all the praise and honour, indeed, unto Him comes hosanna in the highest.

This is an in-depth study into the Holy Spirit, who is not a mere force. He is not energy. The Holy Spirit is a person and part of the Trinity along with the Father and the Son. God is Sovereign, and just so God wills and moves according to His will. Just so, the Spirit of the Lord moves and acts never out of His own accord, but always follows the leading of the Father. So the Spirit is interdependent, as there is a mutual dependency within the Trinity. The work of the Spirit is far greater in scope than merely the spiritual gifts, for the Spirit of the Lord leads us in our calling on the narrow path to the glory of the Lord. It is of utmost necessity for the Church to be one that is utterly and completely Spirit-filled and not led by the flesh. For only in the Spirit can we fulfil the Great Commission, be true disciples and walk in His truth, His way and His life.

If we seek to find life, we need to walk in the Kingdom of Life. Believers are progressively becoming more wrapped up in church activity, which is in essence mere captivity to religion. Religion blinds us to the truth, for it cages us in traditional and worldly ways. Throughout the life of Jesus, He only preached Kingdom. Nothing else. In the Lord’s Prayer, methods, service modules and gender inequality have absolutely nothing to do with Kingdom. Just so, in Matthew 6, as Jesus taught about praying for the Kingdom to come, He also included in His teaching (verse 33) about seeking the Kingdom and His righteousness (implying walking in His Ways) then the rest will be added (life, hope, joy, and strength and spiritual prosperity). We need to seek the Kingdom above all else, but we can only walk in the manifested reality and glory of the Kingdom once we walk by Spirit, implying surrendering first our kingdom, laying down our crown and denying the Self. If we seek His Kingdom, then our kingdom (our ways, agendas, ideas) needs to die as well. What we believe to be truth, or the right way, or the correct path, needs to be surrendered as we seek the true way of the Lord, which is the Way of the Kingdom. Jesus said He is the Way, Truth and Life, meaning He is the WAY of the Kingdom, and if we seek the Kingdom then we need to follow the Lord Jesus in Spirit and Truth. If we seek His Kingdom, we find His path is one of righteousness, of love and peace, but also of order, of right and wrong and of purity.

There is a fire on the mountain. It is a wildfire of apostasy tearing through the church, fuelled by idolatry. It is because of the winds of false doctrine that this wildfire keeps spreading, and it has been causing massive damage for hundreds of years to the church. Yet the fire is not being checked, addressed, or effectively extinguished by believers. The fire of apostasy has been receiving plenty of fuel for the last 1800 or so years to be a raging inferno. Yes, there is a profane fire burning on the altars build on the spiritual high places. An increasing level of idolatry and spiritual apostasy plagues the world and the church. The fire of idolatry has swept through churches for a long time, consuming and destroying. It is the profane fire. An unholy fire. Who shall contain the fire? It is time for the church to earnestly address idolatry in her midst, for idolatry is an abomination in the eyes of God. God alone shall be worshipped. He should be our highest devotion and our heart’s desire above all. Idolatry is not a trivial matter, as Israel discovered. God is calling for concerted and real action from the church to address idolatry, for our God is a jealous God, and He is an all-consuming fire. He must be our First Love, nothing else, and certainly no one else, including the self.
