"Essays Literary, Critical and Historical" is a collection of works by Thomas O'Hagan, an Irish lawyer and judge who served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland from 1868 to 1874. In the essays, the author expresses his thoughts on different topics like "The Italian Renaissance and The Popes of Avignon," "The Degradation of Scholarship," and "Poetry and History Teaching Falsehood."
