The purpose of the Toolkit is to transform midwifery education through this first global, interprofessional, innovative, evidence-based Midwifery Education Toolkit. Thisis bringing togetherinto one Toolkit the updated education materials for maternal, newborn, sexual, reproductive and mental health for life-long learning in compassionate midwifery care, including during pandemics and for use in fragile and humanitarian settings. In contrast to more traditional education materials, the Toolkit is uniquely focused on a midwifery model of care, putting women, newborns and their families at the centre. It also aims to support midwifery care providers to prevent unnecessary interventions, yet ensure lifesaving actions, enabling health professionals to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

Asia has an enormous, largely untapped, opportunity to save money and cut growth in greenhouse gas emissions by taking measures to increase energy efficiency in buildings. Energy efficiency is one of the quickest, cheapest, cleanest ways to address energy and environmental challenges. In China, gaining a megawatt of electricity by building more generating capacity costs four to six times as much as saving a megawatt through greater efficiency--and that ignores the environmental costs of using fossil fuels. Yet China currently is building the equivalent of two 500-megawatt power plants every week. More than half of the world's new construction is taking place in China and India alone. Buildings account for around 30 percent of the world's total energy consumption and a similar percentage of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. The way buildings are designed and constructed today not only will have an impact on their operating costs, but will affect the world's energy consumption patterns and environmental conditions for many years to come.

This book documents the important advances that have been achieved in abdominoplasty over the past 15 years, in particular through the introduction of a nontraumatic approach associated with minimal morbidity owing to the avoidance of resection of abdominal panniculus and damage to the perforating vessels. The surgical principles of this procedure, including in combination with liposuction, are fully described by its developer, Juarez Avelar, with the aid of a wealth of color illustrations. A miniabdominoplasty option is also discussed and recent significant technical contributions such as various new plication techniques and means of minimizing complications are clearly presented. In addition, a series of chapters explain how the surgical principles underlying the described nontraumatic method of abdominoplasty can now be applied to other areas of the body, for example to improve rhytidoplasty, ear reconstruction, body contouring, and medial thigh lifting.
