Evolution: The Financial rEvolution; A simple guidebook demonstrating the concepts and workings of a fictional cooperative designed not to make profit but to save our world. It explains not only the need to reshape our society into an abundance economy, changing the whole way resources are managed, but also shows how easy it is for the people to take that decision into their own hands and bring about a new age to humanity. Capitalism and greed have come to rule our society and taken our world to the brink of calamity. Even though through the years, attempts have been made to bring about a semblance of balance within a system, again and again they fail and fall, because of greed, and the tool for it to rule. Money. But a solution exists, a new system, one free of the inequality, greed, corruption, and destruction that we have today, a world beyond money, beyond capitalism, a free world. Many know about its potential, great organizations exist expressing the need for it, but so far it seems a far-off dream, how can we move from here to there, it seems so big. Evolution shows that it isn't a dream but rather a choice and more, a need. Sadly, that choice to move beyond the corruption and destruction, and indeed our whole democracy has been controlled by the financial system and the greed that capitalism has spurned. Even though the possibility has existed for many years to move beyond the waste of our mother earth and the enslavement of ourselves, those with the ability to make change are caught within the corruptive web that money creates. Only the people can make change now, only they can see the need.In times past when our democracies have become corrupted, the people called forth a violent revolution, but those times are gone as they should be, violence should never be an answer. With politics manipulated by wealth, even well minded politicians hold no power. Political revolutions of the people, with great leaders, fail. In our system, in our time, with the world as it is, there is only one way to make that decision and legally and peacefully bring about that choice. A financial revolution. Join us now and be part of that choice as we explore the potential of a new world, a new way, and discover how easy it is for us to make change and move into a world of equality and sustainable abundance.

Leading economists discuss post–financial crisis policy dilemmas, including the dangers of complacency in a period of relative stability. The Great Depression led to the Keynesian revolution and dramatic shifts in macroeconomic theory and macroeconomic policy. Similarly, the stagflation of the 1970s led to the adoption of the natural rate hypothesis and to a major reassessment of the role of macroeconomic policy. Should the financial crisis and the Great Recession lead to yet another major reassessment, to another intellectual revolution? Will it? If so, what form should it, or will it, take? These are the questions taken up in this book, in a series of contributions by policymakers and academics. The contributors discuss the complex role of the financial sector, the relative roles of monetary and fiscal policy, the limits of monetary policy to address financial stability, the need for fiscal policy to play a more active role in stabilization, and the relative roles of financial regulation and macroprudential tools. The general message is a warning against going back to precrisis ways—to narrow inflation targeting, little use of fiscal policy for stabilization, and insufficient financial regulation. This book challenges the static, ahistorical models on which Economics continues to rely. These models presume that markets operate on a "frictionless" plane where abstract forces play out independent of their institutional and spatial contexts, and of the influences of the past. In reality, at any point in time exogenous factors are themselves outcomes of complex historical processes. They are shaped by institutional and spatial contexts, which are "carriers of history," including past economic dynamics and market outcomes. To examine the connections between gradual, evolutionary change and more dramatic, revolutionary shifts the text takes on a wide array of historically salient economic questions—ranging from how formative, European encounters reconfigured the political economies of indigenous populations in Africa, the Americas, and Australia to how the rise and fall of the New Deal order reconfigured labor market institutions and outcomes in the twentieth century United States. These explorations are joined by a common focus on formative institutions, spatial structures, and market processes. Through historically informed economic analyses, contributors recognize the myriad interdependencies among these three frames, as well as their distinct logics and temporal rhythms.

Financial markets are complex. Regulators strive to predict ways in which they can malfunction and create rules to prevent this from happening, yet behavioural impacts are often overlooked. This book explores how behavioural finance can go hand-in-hand with traditional methods to help banks and regulators create better policies. It also demonstrates how the behavioural finance revolution has opened the way to a more integrated approach to the analysis of economic phenomena.
