What is grayscale coloring? Grayscale coloring means that you will be coloring over a black-and-white picture. The magic of coloring over grayscale is that the shading is already done for you! Even beginners with no knowledge of shading can achieve beautiful results. Colored pencils work beautifully with the grayscale images giving the finished picture depth and dimension. The paper is well suited for colored pencils but does not work as well with markers. If you use markers put a sheet of paper under the page in case of bleed-through. This coloring book in grayscale contains 28 images of fairies created by fantasy artist Janna Prosvirina. Note, that grayscale means that the images in this book contain all the values from black to white, it is not the same as line art. All the illustrations are printed on one side only, the book includes test pages for you to try different color schemes and designs. It is recommended to use a dry medium like colored pencils, pastel pencils, pastels, chalks and oil crayons. If you use markers or gel pens, please put a piece of heavy paper or card stock between the pages to prevent bleeding through and to protect the next design. This gives you the opportunity to learn about shading and create a very in depth piece. This book is printed on bright white paper ( a bit heavier paper than my other books). The pages have a nice smooth finish. Colored pencils, markers, and other mediums work well with this paper. Also included in the back are four of my full color images!
