This father's handbook is a major improvement over other handbooks for raising your children. This up-to-date book covers common child-raising topics often omitted or only summarized in other books. Each topic discussed is backed up by provided references with in-depth specifics should readers want more details. The Father's Handbook for Raising Children includes specific possible actions a father can take rather than just providing "do good" statements. Its practical suggestions will save fathers time and money now and as your child ages. About the Author A Ph.D is a research and teaching degree. Petersohn previously taught business management and statistics and has written on computer topics. He personally had to undergo serious cardiac surgery and a stressful recovery and that involved Johns Hopkins and the Med-Star Hospital in DC. He also had to deal with more than two dozen family medical issues that pushed him into working with London's National Health System and Venice's Mesre as well as the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland and St. Joseph's in Phoenix. He was drawn into extensive medical research as family issues became serious which spurred a deep interest in researching medical journals and reports from sources such as NIH, Johns Hopkins, UCLA, Emory University, and the MAYO Clinic.

Modern families face challenges unprecedented in human history. The time, attention and vigilance required of parents is exhausting and consuming family life. Parents are required to balance complex schedules, be technology aware, social media informed, constantly monitor children’s screen time and media communication, cope with academic problems, shield them from the dangers of immorality, find inventive ways to overcome their boredom, organize extracurricular activities, and handle everything within financially constrained circumstances that increasingly require both to be working. Little wonder that anxiety is on the rise and parents are increasingly fearing for their children’s future. The authors in this book attempt to address parents’ concerns and equip them with the confidence and tools necessary to work towards understanding and addressing the real needs of both themselves and their children, to nurture the child’s character, self-confidence, life skills, moral boundaries, spiritual development and much more. There is no quick-fix. Myths are debunked, and practical tips offered throughout which can be implemented immediately, with fun activities outlined at the end of each chapter with the aim of improving parent-child relationships through bonding, love, patience, openness, respect and communication.

6 lectures and an essay, 1919-1920 (CW 297) World War I destroyed the structures, values, and self-confidence that created the seeming greatness of the nineteenth century. In its place stood ruins and the shards of a civilization. In response to this, Emil Molt--the director of the Waldorf-Astoria Cigarette Factory and a student of Rudolf Steiner--decided to establish a school to educate people who could create a new culture. Thus, the Waldorf school movement was begun. Rudolf Steiner agreed to act as the school's consultant, and his insights guided the school in accomplishing this ambitious task. The goal of this education was that, through living inner work guided by the insights of Rudolf Steiner, the teachers would develop in the children such power of thought, depth of feeling, and strength of will that they would emerge from their school years as full members of the human community, able to meet and transform the world. These lectures occurred around the opening of the first Waldorf school. They serve as an excellent, inspiring introduction to Waldorf education as a whole. Here Steiner outlines--with freshness, immediacy, and excitement--the goals and intentions of a new form of education and speaks to parents of prospective students. He explains the school's guiding principles and describes how parents must participate, with understanding and interest, in the awakening of their children's creative forces so that a healthier society can come about.
