This is a crochet pattern to make a Bee and a Flower Basket. A basic knowledge of crochet is required to make them. The pattern is easy to follow: it only uses single crochet stitches (US) or double crochet stitches (UK). The Bee and Flower Basket are made with No 5 yarn (Bulky, Chunky, Craft, Rug) and a 6 mm hook (US: J/10, UK: 4). Instructions are included for the bee, basket and flowers. You can make them bigger or smaller, without changing the pattern. The bee is about 19 inches/ 47.5 cm high standing (excluding antennas). The flower's diameter is 2.8 inches/ 7 cm. The basket is 3 inches/ 7.5 cm in diameter and 1.8 inches/ 4.5 cm high (excluding the handle). The size of the dolls depends on the size of the crochet hook, thickness of yarn and how you stuff them; a bigger hook and thicker yarn make a bigger doll. A doll stuffed tightly is bigger than a loose stuffed doll.

Renewed interest in needlecraft projects — particularly in crocheted items used as accent pieces — has created a new demand for attractive floral patterns. Fashionable during the first half of the twentieth century, these popular designs ranged from the simple, stylized motifs found in edgings and tablecloths to superb bouquets of three-dimensional blossoms used in bedspreads, placemats, and doilies. With the patterns in this splendid collection, crocheters can again re-create many of the same eye-catching designs that were once presented in now-rare thread-company instruction booklets of the 1940s and '50s. Included here are designs for a delicate three-piece filet crochet vanity set displaying the timeless beauty of the daffodil; exquisite edgings depicting violets, fuchsias, and begonias; a lovely bedspread titled Friendship Garden; a Rose O' Summer doily centerpiece; a breathtaking doily set titled Forget-Me-Not Swirl; a variety of colorful pansy motifs incorporated in a bedspread, refreshment set, and two diffferent doilies; a lacy lily-of-the-valley doily; and two dozen other irresistible designs.Easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions and 36 finely detailed photographs enable crocheters at all levels to create a treasure chest of stunning, heirloom-quality items. In addition, a brief introduction provides helpful hints on how to care for completed projects through proper washing and blocking.

This lovely book provides 20 contemporary, stylish designs for crocheted corsages – large, eye-catching floral designs that can be worn in different ways: as a brooch, buttonhole, on your wrist, shoes, bag or belt, for example. The flowers are made in a variety of sizes and styles, with different types of flower, all worked in various colours, yarns and crochet stitches. Some feature added embellishments such as buttons and beads. Some of the flowers are based on real ones, such as the pansy, lily and hydrangea, while others, such as spectrum, roux and rainbow are fantasy flowers designed by Anna. There is more variety in that some of the flowers are quite flat, while others are distinctly 3-D, giving them added appeal. The patterns are easy to follow and there is a beautiful photograph of each one, suggesting ways of wearing them. All of the materials used are widely available both here and in the US. Examples of the author's work can be found on her website, www.moochka.co.uk.
