Frontiers In Computer Education

This book is the proceedings of the 2011 International Conference on Frontiers in Computer Education (ICFCE 2011) in Sanya, China, December 1-2, 2011. The contributions can be useful for researchers, software engineers, and programmers, all interested in promoting the computer and education development. Topics covered are computing and communication technology, network management, wireless networks, telecommunication, Signal and Image Processing, Machine Learning, educational management, educational psychology, educational system, education engineering, education technology and training. The emphasis is on methods and calculi for computer science and education technology development, verification and verification tools support, experiences from doing developments, and the associated theoretical problems.

This proceedings volume contains selected papers presented at the 2014 International Conference on Frontiers in Computer Education (ICFCE 2014), which was held December 24-25, 2014, in Wuhan, China. The objective of this conference was to provide a forum for different researchers in different fields, especially Computer Education as well as Information Technology, to exchange their various findings. The papers have been grouped under the following overarching themes: Computer Science, Computer Education, Education and Teaching Reform, and Communication and Intelligent Control.

The use of physical hardware along with software and educational theory to aid learning is known as educational technology. It also seeks to improve performance through the creation, usage and management of appropriate technological resources and processes. Educational technology enables education to be individualized, thereby allowing the students to work and gain mastery of the curriculum at their own pace. There are several domains within this field such as learning theory, computer-based learning, m-learning and online learning. The designing of educational technology takes into consideration several pedagogical perspectives or learning theories. These perspectives are studied under E-learning theory. There are three main theoretical schools into which these perspectives are classified. These are behaviorism, constructivism and cognitivism. This book contains some path-breaking studies in the field of educational technology. It will also provide interesting topics for research which interested readers can take up. This book is appropriate for students seeking detailed information in this area as well as for experts.

This book constitutes invited papers from the First International Workshop on Frontiers in Software Engineering Education, FISEE 2019, which took place during November 11-13, 2019, at the Château de Villebrumier, France. The 25 papers included in this volume were considerably enhanced after the conference and during two different peer-review phases. The contributions cover a wide range of problems in teaching software engineering and are organized in the following sections: Course experience; lessons learnt; curriculum and course design; competitions and workshops; empirical studies, tools and automation; globalization of education; and learning by doing. The final part "TOOLS Workshop: Artificial and Natural Tools (ANT)" contains submissions presented at a different, but related, workshop run at Innopolis University (Russia) in the context of the TOOLS 2019 conference. FISEE 2019 is part of a series of scientific events held at the new LASER center in Villebrumier near Montauban and Toulouse, France.
