Fuzzy Logic And Technology And Aggregation Operators

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 13th Conference of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology, EUSFLAT 2023, and 12th International Summer School on Aggregation Operators, AGOP 2023, jointly held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, during September 4–8, 2023. The 71 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 161 submissions. The papers are divided into special sessions on: Interval uncertainty; information fusion techniques based on aggregation functions, preaggregation functions and their generalizations; evaluative linguistic expressions, generalized quantifiers and applications; neural networks under uncertainty and imperfect information; imprecision modeling and management in XAI systems; recent trends in mathematical fuzzy logics; fuzzy graph-based models: theory and application; new frontiers of computational intelligence for pervasive healthcare systems; fuzzy implication functions; and new challenges and ideas in statistical inference and data analysis.

This volume constitutes the proceedings of two collocated international conferences: EUSFLAT-2017 – the 10th edition of the flagship Conference of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology held in Warsaw, Poland, on September 11–15, 2017, and IWIFSGN’2017 – The Sixteenth International Workshop on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets and Generalized Nets, held in Warsaw on September 13–15, 2017. The conferences were organized by the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Department IV of Engineering Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Polish Operational and Systems Research Society in collaboration with the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT), the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and various European universities. The aim of the EUSFLAT-2017 was to bring together theoreticians and practitioners working on fuzzy logic, fuzzy systems, soft computing and related areas and to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing the l atest trends and ideas, while the aim of IWIFSGN’2017 was to discuss new developments in extensions of the concept of a fuzzy set, such as an intuitionistic fuzzy set, as well as other concepts, like that of a generalized net. The papers included, written by leading international experts, as well as the special sessions and panel discussions contribute to the development the field, strengthen collaborations and intensify networking.

This book provides readers with a timely and comprehensive yet concise view on the field of fuzzy logic and its real-world applications. The chapters, written by authoritative scholars in the field, report on promising new models for data analysis, decision making, and systems modeling, with a special emphasis on their applications in management science. This book presents an extension of the aggregation operator of the generalized interval type-2 Sugeno integral using generalized type-2 fuzzy logic. This extension enables it to handle higher levels of uncertainty when adding any number of sources and types of information in a wide variety of decision-making applications. The authors also demonstrate that the extended aggregation operator offers better performance than other traditional or extended operators. The book is a valuables reference resource for students and researchers working on theory and applications of fuzzy logic in various areas of application where decision making is performed under high levels of uncertainty, such as pattern recognition, time series prediction, intelligent control and manufacturing.

Aggregation plays a central role in many of the technological tasks we are faced with. The importance of this process will become even greater as we move more and more toward becoming an information-cent.ered society, us is happening with the rapid growth of the Internet and the World Wirle Weh. Here we shall be faced with many issues related to the fusion of information. One very pressing issue here is the development of mechanisms to help search for information, a problem that clearly has a strong aggregation-related component. More generally, in order to model the sophisticated ways in which human beings process information, as well as going beyond the human capa bilities, we need provide a basket of aggregation tools. The centrality of aggregation in human thought can be be very clearly seen by looking at neural networks, a technology motivated by modeling the human brain. One can see that the basic operations involved in these networks are learning and aggregation. The Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) operators provide a parameter ized family of aggregation operators which include many of the well-known operators such as the maximum, minimum and the simple average.

This carefully edited book presents an up-to-date state of current research in the use of fuzzy sets and their extensions. It pays particular attention to foundation issues and to their application to four important areas where fuzzy sets are seen to be an important tool for modeling and solving problems. This book focuses on the fields of fuzzy logic, granular computing and also considering the control area. These areas can work together to solve various control problems, the idea is that this combination of areas would enable even more complex problem solving and better results. In this book we test the proposed method using two benchmark problems: the total flight control and the problem of water level control for a 3 tank system. When fuzzy logic is used it make it easy to performed the simulations, these fuzzy systems help to model the behavior of a real systems, using the fuzzy systems fuzzy rules are generated and with this can generate the behavior of any variable depending on the inputs and linguistic value. For this reason this work considers the proposed architecture using fuzzy systems and with this improve the behavior of the complex control problems.
