This is a new release of the original 1949 edition.

First published in 1989. Counselling Gems provides 'how to' think about situations, it contains 110 'gems' arranged under eight section headings and helps the practitioner to gain ideas that can be used you understand better counseling and clients. It also provides an opportunity to know how a practitioner thinks about their role and relates to basic ways of thinking of clients, their problems and self. Through a sharing approach narrative, this text also reflects counselor educator and supervisor's basics concepts, aids the implementation of these concepts and contains useful notes of students made from hundreds of comments made by Dr Carnevale during practices.

The book is one, which urge humanity to be humane, to channel their energy and thoughts from foolishness and or tumult. The intent is to assist in changing the viewpoint of some ideas of life. The view of many are clouded with angry and hatred. This book will dilute these fears, which cause many to be unproductive. In being positive, ones mind will become clear for a constructive life with the ability to show Love for oneself and ones fellowman. I was twenty years of age, when I became intoxicated with the thoughts of being free from my parent's rules. I had the idea the world was beginning to open to me, and all dreams were for the asking. I felt restless and marveling at the thought of my new founded freedom. In a short time the dreams began to disappear, to my surprise I slowly tramping their feet to disturb the slumbering souls, who only desired peace and solitude. I call these years of my youth, "A Prisoner Of Reality," an era in which, the silent sorrows dropped in my heart as I began to see the condition of humanity. This book "Gems Of Thoughts," is an outlet that stimulates the minds for the knowledge, which comes from life experiences, and associations. Some, where I heard or read about the flowers, we all have learned about the different things in life, and one day I learn about the flowers. A Rose has many thorns, but Roses also smell sweet as it unfolds to its maturity. It only trembles and withers in the coldness of the wind in darkness. As I reach the prime years of my life the flowers with thorns of truth is blossoming in my words in this book, "Gems Of Thoughts."
