Who is God? Do you believe He exists? Do you think He wants a personal relationship with you? Who do you believe you are in God's eyes? New Christians, mature Christians, and those who are questioning what they believe, this Bible study guide was written with you in mind. Getting to Know Jesus Christ by Sherrie Pruitt is organized in a workbook format that spans a five-week period and sets the reader up to explore the characteristics and names of Jesus from the beginning of the alphabet to the end. As the reader searches for relevant verses for their daily reflection, they are encouraged to think deeply on what they learn about Jesus, His actions, His will, and His love. Pruitt's Bible study is intended for both group and individual study, prompting readers to reflect on God and His Word through personal reflection, group discussion, and scriptural insight from the author each week. As Pruitt led her ladies' Bible study, she felt the Spirit pushing her to begin writing down their discussions and create this study. Pruitt moves readers to search for Jesus in ALL of the Bible, not just the New Testament. This study will bring you to a greater understanding of who you are in light of Who Jesus is, inspire you to live transformed by His love for you, and help you reflect the love of Christ to all who are made in His image. Her prayer is that those who are still questioning what they believe will learn to love Jesus the way He loves each of us. Sherrie Pruitt has lead women's ministry in local churches, taught Sunday school to middle schoolers, and facilitated women's Bible studies and book clubs. Sherrie and her husband live in southeastern North Carolina. Their blended family consists of five adult children, eight grandchildren, and two very sassy dachshunds. For Sherrie, the best days are spent with family and friends and/or hanging out at the beach enjoying the beauty of our Creator.

Getting to Know Jesus connects the dots between knowing the right Bible answers and having a real relationship with Jesus Christ. The six core teachings in Martin Luther's Small Catechism summarize the most critical truths of the Bible. However, the heart of the Bible is not just to know the right answers; it is to know Jesus. Drawing on his personal experience as a pastor, the author unpacks six core teachings of the Bible in easy-to-understand relationship language. You will discover a deeper meaning in worship, prayer, Bible study, and personal devotions and be more deeply connected to Jesus. Plus, you'll be better prepared to talk to family and friends about your relationship with Jesus in a clear and personal way. Ideal for new Christians, new church members, or small groups.

Have you ever asked yourself, who is Jesus? I am pretty sure if you asked every Christian who Jesus is to them, you would get many different answers. Everyone has their own reasons for thinking who Jesus is to them. This book provides you a way to share everything that you have learned about Jesus. Your journey through this book will also open new concepts of who Jesus is to you, and it will help others understand as well. The idea of this book first originated in the front row at my church on a typical Sunday morning. The pastor was giving his lecture on "Who Is Jesus to you?" When I heard that, I sat back thinking what a great concept that is. Something that seemed so simple resulted in an in-depth and thought-provoking study suitable for any everyday Christian. The process of travelling through this book will help you explore the depths of your faith. I first had to make sure that this concept was not already published. I exhausted the research and was ready to tackle this adventure. Once my decision was made, it was time to order a dictionary since I did not own one at the time. I went through and highlighted every word that could be used relating to Jesus. Next step was writing the definition and my own example sentences. The example sentence had to include that word and its association with Jesus. That, my friend, is the idea of this book. Take the word that is given and incorporate the name Jesus with that word in a sentence. You will have a better understanding on who he is and on what he has done in your life. This book is for you and you alone to grasp a deeper personal relationship with him over time. This does not have to be done in a hurry. I encourage you to see the word and write down a true meaning about Jesus and how he interacts in your life. Growing up in Midlothian, Texas, Jordan Bullard participated in all types of sports, worked as a disc jockey through high school, enjoyed summers on the boat at the lake, and regularly attended church. He graduated from Midlothian High School and went on to play football in college at Howard Payne University. He pursued his education and graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Since graduation he has been living in Waco, Texas where he has been active in the Law Enforcement field. His hobbies include physical fitness, healthy living, outdoor activities, and the restoration of his Dodge truck. As a result of experiencing some heart wrenching life events, he has learned that life can be very challenging with many battles. But, he has also learned that when you experience setbacks, you can trust Jesus to turn those setbacks to achievements. Your personal relationship with Jesus is the driving force that keeps you moving forward to experience the joys of success.

Anyone who has done children's sermons will sooner or later hear from someone that "I learn more from the children's sermon than I do from the real sermon." And indeed, the truths of scripture are so simple that even a child can understand them. So it's no accident that children's sermons have become a central part of the worship service in many churches. Brett Blair and Tim Carpenter offer a year's worth of object lessons that engage children and impart profound lessons for all ages. Two sermons are provided for each Sunday in Cycle C of the Revised Common Lectionary, one based on the Second Lesson and one based on the Gospel. The messages are structured in two parts: the "lesson" uses an object to draw out active responses from children, then the "application" connects that object to the assigned scripture reading. Each message includes a clear statement of its exegetical aim. Bright, innovative, perceptive, creative, grace-filled Brett Blair and Tim Carpenter are all of those and much, much more, and that is reflected beautifully in their new book Children's Sermons A To Z. James W. Moore Pastor, St. Luke's United Methodist Church Houston, Texas Brett Blair is associate pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. He holds the M.Div. degree from Yale University Divinity School and is a cum laude graduate of Oral Roberts University with B.A. and M.A. degrees in New Testament Literature. Tim Carpenter is the pastor at First United Methodist Church in Bolivar, Tennessee. He is a graduate of Memphis Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and the University of Florida (B.A. in political science).

A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Hello, my name is Annette. Jesus became my best Friend when I was a child, and He is still my very best Friend. A great thing about getting to know Jesus when you are very young is that you get to be best friends with Him your whole life long. I guess that's why I want every kid to know Him. A few years ago, I decided to make an alphabetical list of Jesus' titles and adjectives from the Bible. I wanted to learn more about Him and more ways to praise Him for who He is and what He does. My list has 102 titles and adjectives, and I started using it to teach kids in my Sunday school classes how awesome Jesus is. This book covers the first eight letters of the alphabet, A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H, exploring 38 titles and adjectives of Jesus. You can write right in the book as you are reading and discovering more about Jesus. My prayer is that you and Jesus will become best friends too. Annette Evans
