The Bible is the Christian's textbook on relationships. From the moment of creation, God has related to His creation with love. The ultimate expression, "For God so loved the world," was seen in Jesus coming to earth, "He gave His only Son." Love is the mark of a Christian, "As I have loved you, love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples" (Jn. 13:34-35). Jesus's disciples took this to heart and wrote many principles that describe our reciprocal relationship. In his book, "We Love Because God First Loved Us," author Al Gary reviews these one another principles of the New Testament which teach us how to: Love one another as Jesus loved us. Serve one another in love! Encourage and build up one another. Respect and live in peace with one another. Christ has placed us in His body as "members one of another" (Rom. 12:5). In heaven, we will enjoy a perfect, reciprocal, eternal relationship with all of God's children. If we want to live on this earth in a way that foresees heaven, this book can help us discover God's way to make that happen! Dr. Al Gary was born in Slaton, Texas in 1944. He received his BA from Wayland Baptist University in 1966 and married Judy Bergstrom of Clovis, New Mexico in 1967. He received the Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Al was a pastor in Fort Benton, Montana and Evant, Texas. He and Judy served thirty-seven years with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention as missionaries to Guadeloupe in the French West Indies. After retirement from the IMB, Al served for nine years as pastor of the International Christian Fellowship in Lubbock, Texas.

Concentrate on the biblical author's message as it unfolds. Designed to assist the pastor and Bible teacher in conveying the significance of God's Word, the Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament series treats the literary context and structure of every passage of the New Testament book in the original Greek. With a unique layout designed to help you comprehend the form and flow of each passage, the ZECNT unpacks: The key message. The author's original translation. An exegetical outline. Verse-by-verse commentary. Theology in application. While primarily designed for those with a basic knowledge of biblical Greek, all who strive to understand and teach the New Testament will benefit from the depth, format, and scholarship of these volumes. 1-3 John In her commentary on John's letters, Karen H. Jobes writes to bridge the distance between academic biblical studies and pastors, students, and laypeople who are looking for an in-depth treatment of the issues raised by these New Testament books. She approaches the three letters of John as part of the corpus that includes John’s gospel, while rejecting an elaborate redactional history of that gospel that implicates the letters. Jobes treats three major themes of the letters under the larger rubric of who has the authority to interpret the true significance of Jesus, an issue that is pressing in our religiously pluralistic society today with its many voices claiming truth about God.

Based on Kurt Bennett's popular-ish blog God Running, Love Like Jesus begins with the story of how after a life of regular church attendance and Bible study, Bennett was challenged by a pastor to study Jesus. That led to an obsessive seven-year deep dive. After pouring over Jesus' every interaction with another human being, he realized he was doing a much better job of studying Jesus' words than he was following Jesus' words and example. The honest and fearless revelations of Bennett's own moral failures affirm he wrote this book for himself as much as for others. Love Like Jesus examines a variety of stories, examples, and research, including: -Specific examples of how Jesus communicated God's love to others. -How Jesus demonstrated all five of Gary Chapman's love languages (and how you can too). -The story of how Billy Graham extended Christ's extraordinary love and grace toward a man who misrepresented Jesus to millions. -How to respond to critics the way Jesus did. -How to love unlovable people the way Jesus did. -How to survive a life of loving like Jesus (or how not to become a Christian doormat). -How Jesus didn't love everyone the same (and why you shouldn't either). -How Jesus guarded his heart by taking care of himself--he even napped--and why you should do the same.-How Jesus loved his betrayer Judas, even to the very end. With genuine unfiltered honesty, Love Like Jesus, shows you how to live a life according to God's definition of success: A life of loving God well, and loving the people around you well too. A life of loving like Jesus.

New York Times bestseller What is Jesus worth to you? It's easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for the gospel. They would take up their crosses daily... But who do you know who lives like that? Do you? In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple--then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard. And he tells the dramatic story of what is happening as a "successful" suburban church decides to get serious about the gospel according to Jesus. Finally, he urges you to join in The Radical Experiment -- a one-year journey in authentic discipleship that will transform how you live in a world that desperately needs the Good News Jesus came to bring.

He First Loved Us consists of twelve lessons that reveal Gods love for us. The titled is taken from 1 John 4:19, We love because he first loved us. We first have to give love to receive a response of love, and that is exactly what God did by sacrificing his son, Christ Jesus, for our sins. When we open our hearts to receive Christ as our Savior, his love will change us forever. His love brings us peace, joy, helps us in all our relationships, and brings us eternal life. Satans goal is to keep everyone away from God, and he does this by filling our minds with lies about God and lies about the Christian life. He puts fear in our hearts so we tend to hide from the Lord just as Adam and Eve did after disobeying God, Genesis 3:9-10). This book was written to reveal the truth about God and his perfect love for us. As you read and study each lesson, open your mind for understanding and your heart for the truth. The Bible says this about Satan, When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies, (John 8:44). And the Bible says, Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free, (John 8:32). Let Gods love set you free from fear, anxiety, worry, and all those negative emotions, for the word says, Perfect love cast out fear, (1 John 4:18). Christ said The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full, (John 10:10). Fill your heart with Gods love and live life to the full.
