Based on a true story: A magnificent portrayal of chaos, darkness, and adventure in Asia's Golden Triangle as the war wages in Vietnam Adrift at the end of the Vietnam War, Paul Roberts and his girlfriend, Fay, are arrested at the Burmese-Thai border for smuggling a couple of ounces of hashish. Stranded in a small Thai prison, they become part of a grisly contest played out by opium warlords, corrupt border patrol police, and two AWOL GIs. The war echoes through their intrigues and jailbreak attempts, especially when a regiment of North Vietnamese joins the skirmish. Transcending the adventure story, John Balaban’s lyric prose conjures beautiful and frightening images, evoking the Golden Triangle’s jungle as well as the complex hazards of the opium trade.

My book begins the barriers that cause breakups in marriages and relationships. I tell my story of how God restored me through my separation and divorce. You have to get rid of the junk in your trunk such as, anger, bitterness, revenge, low self-esteem, hostility, resentment, rejection, trust, and ability of letting go. Through Jesus you can start healing and renewing your mind and spirit through forgiveness, edification and a positive mental attitude that brings peace, restoration, and joy. Once you have sought the kingdom, then there is joy at the end of the tunnel. To know that in order to live a peaceful and joyful life one must through the love of God put themselves on the right track and cut off all vices. Joyful living is achieved through Godly thinking. The most important condition of a joyful life is obeying Gods standards for your life by simply practicing what we have heard and seen. Examples of the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Living virtuous lives in accordance to Gods plan takes discipline and obedience. God tells us in Galatians 5:25 to not only live in the Spirit but walk in the Spirit, and it continues in verse 26, which is telling us not to be vain in glory, provoking one another and envying one another. God points out that we have three great weapons to arm ourselves in pursuit of his kingdom: faith, hope, and divine love. Provides an update on my life today, dating, and enjoying life at the fullest. Being happy and at peace with myself.

Arthur William Upfield is well known as the creator of Detective Inspector Napoleon Bonaparte (Bony) who features in 29 crime detection novels, most set in the Australian outback. It is not well known that he also wrote about 250 short stories and articles, drawing on his experiences in the bush between 1911 and 1931. Up and Down Australia Again is the third published collection of Upfield's short works. Kees de Hoog has selected 34 short stories, a radio play and the first five chapters for an unfinished Bony novel, some items being published for the first time. There are stories based on Upfield's personal experience as a soldier in World War One, stories set in the Australian outback, and tales of Aboriginals and immigrants crossing paths during the years of European settlement and expansion.

In Turning the World Upside Down Nigel Crisp argued that the most affluent and powerful countries in the world can learn a great deal about health from lower income countries with their different insights and experiences and their ability to innovate free from vested interests and received wisdom. In Turning the World Upside Down Again, he argues that they need to go further and listen to and learn from disempowered communities in their own countries. He describes how combining the learning from different countries and communities can lead us to a new ecologically based vision for health and new and practical ways of improving health for ourselves, our communities and our planet. This second edition, 12 years after the first, is extensively re-written and fully updated, drawing on examples from around the world and reflecting what has already been learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and from the onset of climate change. Turning the World Upside Down Again continues the search for understanding begun in the first edition and describes how western scientific medicine, which has served us so well in the 20th Century, must adapt and evolve further and faster to cope with the demands of the 21st Century.
