Hammer The Toff

‘The Toff’ is on a train when the carriage is hit by bullets. Behind the mystery is Bruce Drayton, who claims to have invented a nylon substitute, but there are rumours he did not. Drayton then vanishes and his girlfriend seeks ‘The Toff’’s help, demanding a quick result, but then ceases to co-operate – under the influence of a dubious Colonel.

Richard Rollison (aka ‘The Toff), finds himself in hiding faced with a charge of murder. Whilst on holiday, he had befriended a girl who is not all she appears to be. A man who has been following her was then found murdered. All the evidence points to her, yet she was with ‘The Toff’ at the time and so he must be her accomplice ...

In an unusual case, the Honourable Richard Rollison (aka ‘The Toff’) finds himself investigating a series of frauds in the art world of Paris, including the use of counterfeit currency. Not all is as it seems, however, and it is not long before the investigation widens to one of murder. Can ‘The Toff’ succeed where others might fail?

She consulted The Honourable Richard Rollison (aka ‘ The Toff’), London’s legendary private detective. ‘The Toff’ found himself in conflict with a notorious underworld gang who had no hesitation in ‘disposing’ of awkward enquirers.

‘The Toff’ is looking forward to cricket, but other events take over. A member of his team is stabbed and a pretty girl flees. She then disappears after an unusual conversation with her pursuer; another woman is murdered; and bullets are fired from a speeding car. Blackmail is afoot and it all revolves around two young ladies who look alike.

Colonel The Hon Richard Rollison (aka ‘The Toff’) is fighting for King and Country in the depths of the Second World War. But then a car hits a Commando, and seven are left wounded or dying, with all evidence pointing to the Toff as perpetrator. He finds himself engaged in a frantic race to prove his innocence, and find the real criminals.

The Toff is in disguise as a helper at a holiday camp in order to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three male entertainers. The mystery deepens as hidden money is found and fights break out and then murder. The Toff finds himself embroiled in a much bigger plot than anyone imagined, leading to a fitting climax at a local airfield.

The Honourable Richard Rollison, (aka ‘The Toff’) is once again on the cricket field, indulging in one of his favourite pastimes, when he is called away. A girl has been kidnapped and her life is in danger. He has to find a way through hidden secrets from a grim past in order to solve this series of crimes.
