Faith C. Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the second of eight siblings. She is a faithful and devoted wife to Nathaniel Lee and the mother of eight precious adult children. She enjoys singing spiritual songs, some straight from the Word of God as the Holy Spirit leads. Writing and creating poems and verses has a special part in her life. She has been recognized for support of The Society's Principles of Peace, Education, Accomplishment, Charity, Equality in 1997""1998 by the National Library of Poetry. She also received the Editor's Choice Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry presented by the National Library of Poetry in 1997, 1998, and in December 2008. My prayer is that every reader of this book will be blessed as I have been blessed to write it. Each poem has been written out of spiritual inspiration from the depths of my soul.

Pearl begins her Christian journey at the tender age of nine years old. She served as a junior counselor at 14 and a counselor from 16 to 23 yrs.' of age with Teen Haven Camp (Teen haven Christian Youth Services under the late Rev Bill Drury) now known to be a part of the Water Street Ministries located in Philadelphia New York and Lancaster Pa. Pearl, also served at her childhood church, Rome Emmanuel Baptist Church under Pastor Rev Wright, Miller and participated in many youth organizations of the church. After entering her teens, she felt a need to move on in ministry and was led to the Crusaders for Christ Evangelistic Church of Philadelphia under the pastorship of the Late Rev Thelma R Malone where she worked in the young adult ministry, daycare, and Christian elementary school, and it was also here she received her evangelistic training at the CFC Bible Institute. And a former member of Victory Christian Center under the pastoral ship of Dr. Jimmy A. Ellis III in Philadelphia, Pa(Known as the Bedrock of Southwest Philly), where she has worked as a member of the Conquerors Community Development Corporation, Member Resources, The Parenting Committee, and the Apostolic College of Ministry (formally School of the Word Bible Institute) She also serves on the Board of Theresa Settles Ministry Inc a not-for-profit, faith-based organization committed to improving the quality of life for underprivileged children as well as spreading the gospel locally and abroad. The Alumni Initiative (TAI) The Alumni Initiative is a nonprofit dedicated to providing underprivileged PK-12th grade students with scholarships to pursue higher education. A member of Sistahs in Transformation which serves women of color in there process of unity and wholeness. (Publicity, social media, Events, Sponsorship Committees) After joining the military in 1986 she served an additional duty assignment as a Chaplain Assistant in various units in both the Active and Reserves Army for more than 16 yrs. She has attended the University of Pa (Community Wharton Education Program) & Veterans Upward Bound), Delaware Community College and Community College of Philadelphia, Army Recruiting, Management , Marketing, Administration, Training, Equal Opportunity, Family Deployment Liaison and Warrant Officers Schools. She is currently a continuing degree student at the Dallas Christian University. Pearl has won numerous awards and accommodations for her service in the Dept. of the Army and current employment as Coordinator for the Combined Federal Campaign. In January 1862, Charles Godwin courted Harriet Russell, ultimately unsuccessfully, with the following lines: "Like cadences of inexpressibly sweet music, your kind words came to me: causing every nerve to vibrate as though electrified by some far off strain of heavenly harmony." Almost ten years later, Albert Janin, upon receiving a letter from his beloved Violet Blair, responded with, "I kissed your letter over and over again, regardless of the small-pox epidemic at New York, and gave myself up to a carnival of bliss before breaking the envelope." And in October 1883, Dorothea Lummis wrote candidly to her husband Charles, "I like you to want me, dear, and if I were only with you, I would embrace more than the back of your neck, be sure." In Karen Lystra's richly provocative book, Searching the Heart, we hear the voices of Charles, Albert, Dorothea, and nearly one hundred other nineteenth-century Americans emerge from their surprisingly open, intimate, and emotional love letters. While historians of nineteenth-century America have explored a host of private topics, including courtship, marriage, birth control, sexuality, and sex roles, they have consistently neglected the study of romantic love. Lystra fills this gap by describing in vivid detail what it meant to fall in love in Victorian America. Based on a vast array of love letters, the book reveals the existence of a real openness--even playfulness--between male and female lovers which challenges and expands more traditional views of middle-class private life in Victorian America. Lystra refutes the common belief that Victorian men and women held passionlessness as an ideal in their romantic relationships. Enabling us to enter the hidden world of Victorian lovers, the letters they left behind offer genuine proof of the intensity of their most private interactions, feelings, behaviors, and judgments. Lystra discusses how Victorians anthropomorphized love letters, treating them as actual visits from their lovers, insisting on reading them in seclusion, sometimes kissing them (as Albert does with Violet's), and even taking them to bed. She also explores how courtship rituals--which included the setting and passing of tests of love--succeeded in building unique, emotional bonds between lovers, and how middle-class views of romantic love, which encouraged sharing knowledge and intimacy, gave women more power in the home. Through the medium of love letters, Searching the Heart allows us to enter, unnoticed, the Victorian bedroom and parlor. We will leave with a different view of middle-class Victorian America.
