Computer Assisted Legal Research addresses the various aspects of legal research using the computer. Three major topics are discussed in depth, including Internet legal research, the various computer research systems such as Westlaw and Lexis, and the large number of CD-ROM materials that are presently available. Internet legal research provides an excellent and inexpensive method for doing not only legal research but the factual research that is such a vital part of today's modern law office. Detailed instructions are given for the major computer research systems, which are also available online. CD-ROM materials provide access to state and federal laws, pleadings, and court documents.
