"There is not a doubt in my mind that this book will be one of the top books of 2018 for me.” —5 stars, Julie from Hey Girl HEA The most brazen terrorist attack in history. A country bent on revenge. A love affair cut short. A heart that never truly heals. I knew on the day of the attack that our lives were changed forever. What I didn’t know then was that I’d never see John again after he deployed. One day he was living with me, sleeping next to me, making plans with me. The next day he was gone. That was five years ago. The world has moved on from that awful day, but I’m stuck in my own personal hell, waiting for a man who may be dead for all I know. At my sister’s wedding, I meet Eric, the brother of the groom, and my heart comes alive once again. The world is riveted by the capture of the terrorist mastermind, brought down by U.S. Special Forces in a daring raid. Now I am trapped between hoping I’ll hear from John and fearing what’ll become of my new life with Eric if I do. From a New York Times bestselling author, Five Years Gone, a standalone contemporary, is an epic story of love, honor, duty, unbearable choices and impossible dilemmas. 93,000 words/400 pages

In 1896, Jamesburg, New Jersey, became an independent borough, and it is now considered to be the "hole in the doughnut" of surrounding Monroe Township. Jamesburg and Monroe Township have a shared history dating back to 1734, when the first mill appeared on the shores of Lake Manalapan. Early settler James Buckelew settled on the lake's banks in 1832, and he became the namesake of Jamesburg. Today, the area consists of .877 square miles and is home to approximately 6,000 residents. While Monroe Township's first settler dates back to 1685, the township's namesake, James Monroe (the fifth president), served as a captain of George Washington's Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. In the last 30 years, more changes occurred within Monroe Township than since its creation 181 years ago. The establishment of Leisure World retirement community, now Rossmoor, in 1965 marked the beginnings of major development within the town. Today, Monroe Township is 43.7 square miles with a population of approximately 50,000 residents.

By the time Jack was fifteen he was addicted to alcohol and prescription drugs, was hanging out with rock stars in LA and living a life that any teenager would aspire to. And then The Osbournes turned him into a global celebrity. But as much as Jack enjoyed his fame, underneath it all he was still an awkward teenager, using his sense of humour as a shield. And with fame and money came a greater access to drugs - his addictions took a firmer hold on him and his behaviour was soon out of control. In 21 Years Gone Jack writes with brutal frankness about his descent into addiction and the low point he reached when Sharon was diagnosed with cancer. Scared that his mum might die, Jack retreated further into his alcoholic shell, hating who he was, hating what he did. Every night he would get into bed and pray for God to take his life. When Sharon realised what was happening she told Jack he had to go to rehab - and slowly he turned his life around. Discovering a passion for extreme sports, he went from overweight and unfit to the lean young man he is today - courtesy of such adventures as running with the bulls in Pamplona, fighting a Thai martial arts expert known only as 'The Man' and scaling El Capitan, one of the world's toughest climbs. By turns funny, disarmingly honest and moving, 21 Years Gone is the amazing story of young man who has confronted his demons and defeated them.
