The three-volume set LNCS 8009-8011 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction, UAHCI 2013, held as part of the 15th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, HCII 2013, held in Las Vegas, USA in July 2013, jointly with 12 other thematically similar conferences. The total of 1666 papers and 303 posters presented at the HCII 2013 conferences was carefully reviewed and selected from 5210 submissions. These papers address the latest research and development efforts and highlight the human aspects of design and use of computing systems. The papers accepted for presentation thoroughly cover the entire field of human-computer interaction, addressing major advances in knowledge and effective use of computers in a variety of application areas. The total of 230 contributions included in the UAHCI proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in this three-volume set. The 78 papers included in this volume are organized in the following topical sections: age-related issues, human vision in universal access, emotions and persuasion in universal access, design for autistic spectrum disorders, cognitive issues for universal access, universal access to the Web and social communities.

This two-volume set of LNCS 12188 and 12189 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction, UAHCI 2020, held as part of the 22nd International Conference, HCI International 2020, which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, in July 2020. The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The total of 1439 papers and 238 posters have been accepted for publication in the HCII 2020 proceedings from a total of 6326 submissions. UAHCI 2020 includes a total of 80 regular papers which are organized in topical sections named: Design for All Theory, Methods and Practice; User Interfaces and Interaction Techniques for Universal Access; Web Accessibility; Virtual and Augmented Reality for Universal Access; Robots in Universal Access; Technologies for Autism Spectrum Disorders; Technologies for Deaf Users; Universal Access to Learning and Education; Social Media, Digital Services, Inclusion and Innovation; Intelligent Assistive Environments.

This two-volume set constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction, UAHCI 2022, held as part of the 24th International Conference, HCI International 2022, held as a virtual event, in June-July 2022. A total of 1271 papers and 275 posters included in the 39 HCII 2022 proceedings volumes. UAHCI 2022 includes a total of 73 papers; they focus on topics related to universal access methods, techniques and practices, studies on accessibility, design for all, usability, UX and technology acceptance, emotion and behavior recognition for universal access, accessible media, access to learning and education, as well universal access to virtual and intelligent assistive environments.

Effective compilers allow for a more efficient execution of application programs for a given computer architecture, while well-conceived architectural features can support more effective compiler optimization techniques. A well thought-out strategy of trade-offs between compilers and computer architectures is the key to the successful designing of highly efficient and effective computer systems. From embedded micro-controllers to large-scale multiprocessor systems, it is important to understand the interaction between compilers and computer architectures. The goal of the Annual Workshop on Interaction between Compilers and Computer Architectures (INTERACT) is to promote new ideas and to present recent developments in compiler techniques and computer architectures that enhance each other's capabilities and performance. Interaction Between Compilers and Computer Architectures is an updated and revised volume consisting of seven papers originally presented at the Fifth Workshop on Interaction between Compilers and Computer Architectures (INTERACT-5), which was held in conjunction with the IEEE HPCA-7 in Monterrey, Mexico in 2001. This volume explores recent developments and ideas for better integration of the interaction between compilers and computer architectures in designing modern processors and computer systems. Interaction Between Compilers and Computer Architectures is suitable as a secondary text for a graduate level course, and as a reference for researchers and practitioners in industry.

Vygotsky’s legacy in education is enduring and prolific, influencing educational research and scholarship in areas as far ranging child development, language and literacy development, bilingual education, and learning disabilities to name but a few. In this accessible, introductory volume, renowned Vygtosky authority Luis C. Moll presents a summary of Vygtoskian core concepts, constituting a cultural-historical approach to the study of thinking and development. Moll emphasizes what he considers central tenets of Vygotsky’s scholarship --- the sociocultural genesis of human thinking, the consideration of active and dynamic individuals, a developmental approach to studying human thinking, and the power of cultural mediation in understanding and transforming educational practices, broadly considered.
