Based around research into marketing education and marketing practice, Marketing Skills in Practice: Developing a Successful Marketing Career helps students embarking on their career to develop their professional identity, as well as the key skills required by employers in the industry. Divided into four core sections, the book begins with an overview of the field of marketing. Section two shows students how to relate practice to their own transferable skills, while section three gives students the opportunity to consider how they lead, develop, and manage within marketing. Section four provides students with the opportunity to reflect on their own learning and identify what knowledge and skills they have enhanced for their future careers. Fundamentally, the book identifies the key skills required in the marketing industry whilst also addressing the challenge of developing a career in leading and managing in a marketing context. Theoretical aspects are applied through real-life cases, practical examples and a themed case study, coupled with tasks that allow students to test and apply their knowledge to a workplace scenario, all of which are adaptable for hybrid teaching methods. Unique in its focus on employability, this text is suitable for all marketing students embarking on a career in the field, and particularly as core reading for any modules based on Marketing in Practice and Professional Development. Online resources include PowerPoint slides for lecturers and an instructor’s manual, which includes lesson plans, tasks, suggested answers, and a test bank with answers.

Discover how to balance learning and performing to bolster personal and team success with this revolutionary guide from a world-renowned expert on growth mindset. “An essential read for fostering learning, performance, and a growth mindset . . . I wholeheartedly recommend it.”—Carol Dweck, bestselling author of Mindset A Next Big Idea Club Must Read To succeed in a fast-changing world, individuals and companies know they must create a culture of growth, where experimentation and feedback are encouraged, and learning is integrated into the everyday. Yet we often get stuck in a well-worn pattern of habits that don’t move us forward. Why? Because many of us get trapped in the Performance Paradox: the counterintuitive phenomenon that if we focus only on performing, our performance suffers. How can we give ourselves the space to experiment and grow while also delivering high-level results? Fostering growth mindset to elevate performance is Eduardo Briceño’s specialty. As CEO of Mindset Works and in his work with Fortune 500 companies, he discovered that mastering growth—personal, organizational, and financial—hinges on navigating the crucial balance between learning and performing. In The Performance Paradox, Briceño reveals how to • avoid falling into the chronic performance trap that stagnates growth • identify when and how to unlock the power of mistakes • integrate learning into daily habits in ways that stick • lead teams that constantly improve and outperform their targets • grow your skill level and output simultaneously and for the long term We can achieve more tomorrow than we do today if we develop the belief that we can change and the competence for how to change. With Briceño’s innovative and refreshing framework of balancing learning and performing, individuals and companies can reach their boldest aspirations.

This first open-access book on midwifery and sexuality integrates sexual health into the care for the pregnant and postpartum couple. It addresses sexuality and intimacy from an education and prevention perspective instead of just focusing on treating problems, aiming to foster the development of sexual well-being and happy couplehood. Sexuality and intimacy are essential elements in the bonding of the couple and the parents-to-be. That process can be seriously hampered by sexual problems due to mutual misunderstanding, fear and sexual troubles (especially when the natural processes of conceiving, pregnancy and delivery are disturbed). In this phase of life, disruption of intimacy, sexuality and sexual relationship is a significant risk factor for developing couple and family problems. The need for such a book stems from the very limited attention given to this health area in the daily practice of most midwives and related healthcare professionals. In building a close relationship with the couple through frequent, intense, longstanding contact, the midwife acquires a perfect position to address sexuality and intimacy. With 36 authors from 14 countries, the book comprises five modules: 1. Sexuality; 2. Sexual aspects of the various phases of reproduction when things develop without complications; 3. Sexual aspects when those same phases deviate from physiology; 4. Special topics on sexuality relevant to daily midwifery practice; 5. Teaching, learning, skills and competencies with regard to sexuality. This new practical textbook guides healthcare professionals such as midwives, obstetricians, gynaecologists, nurses, general practitioners, pelvic floor therapists, etc., by offering both basic knowledge and skills on sexual health and wellbeing, combined with modern sexological knowledge, like the entirely new topic of sexual aspects of preconception care.

This Research Topic is the second volume of Research Topic "Binge Drinking in the Adolescent and Young Brain". Please see the first volume here. Binge drinking (BD), also known as heavy episodic drinking or college drinking, is a highly prevalent pattern in most Western countries characterized by the intake of large amounts of alcohol in a short time followed by periods of abstinence. This excessive pattern of alcohol use is a regular practice in around a third of European and American youth. The high prevalence of BD at this age is of particular concern since adolescents are in a period of special vulnerability to neurotoxic effects of alcohol, mainly due to the structural and functional changes going on in the brain throughout this key developmental stage. As showed in the first volume of the Research Topic, evidence gathered during the last decade from animal and human studies seems to point out multiple brain anomalies associated with BD at different levels: biochemical, structural, functional, but also cognitive and affective. In this Second Volume, our aim is to bring together the most recent studies –namely original research and systematic or critical reviews- which provide a comprehensive approach regarding the effects of BD on the adolescent and young brain. Thus, we aim to include manuscripts from different domains (preclinical and clinical research), perspectives (genetic, behavioral, neuropsychological, clinical psychology, psychophysiology, neuroimaging, etc.), and methods (behavioural, biochemical, EEG, MEG, MRI, etc.). Likewise, we welcome submissions aimed at examining the effects of BD beyond the brain (personality dimensions, polygenic risk, peripheral inflammation, cortisol response, gut microbiome, etc.) and approaches focused on reducing BD, such as cognitive training and/or neuromodulation (by tDCS, TMS, etc.).
