It’s Been a Pretty Good Ride By: Bob Harshbarger The genesis of this book came from Bob Harshbarger’s three daughters. They had been subjected to numerous tales over the years about where the Harshbargers came from and countless stories (mostly humorous) about their father growing up in a wheelchair. Bob’s children have encouraged him to write down some of these accounts; thus, along with some genealogical history, this “book” began. Oh, it didn’t start as a book. Bob told himself, “I’m no author,” but he decided to expand his reports to include hilarious events and stories about other people along the way that have been valuable pieces of his life’s puzzle. We are all subjects of problems in one form or another and the attitude with which these bumps in the road are addressed will someday define what one sees when reflecting back on their own life. Bob likes to think that this little book will provide not only some humor to the reader, but also inspiration for their own lives.

The Encuentro isn't just another novel. A fairy tale in novel form- told as a farce, presented like a play, and executed like a movie, it is indeed "novel" in every way. It is very much as advertised: "A Children's Story For Adults" - very mature adults; it is also Kennedy as his innovated best- "pulling out all the stops," and turning the medium right on it's head to make a point, which is his vehicular and artistically stylized expression of his treatise- Psychophysics: The Point Of Everything. So, while the subject matter is bawdy, the humor outrageous and the wit nonpareil, it is, to be sure, a deeply profound exposition of the nature and meaning of life at the end of the day. It is, as he has stated, "probably (my) best symphony yet," and destined to be an instant classic. Where else will you find a novel's author portraying himself in his own book as a "movie director"? The Encuentro is a must read..

Arnie “the Farmer” Beswick was called “the consummate underdog” by Hot Rod magazine. While there was good reason, there is much more to his unbelievable career. Born a third-generation farmer in the small town of Morrison, Illinois, Arnie Beswick’s driving career began not behind the wheel of a straight-line terror but that of a tractor. On local dusty roads, Arnie’s budding reputation grew with street cars, as the “flying farmer” was coined to describe his driving style. When drag racing began in the Midwest in the early 1950s, Arnie was one of the pioneers who campaigned Dodges and Oldsmobiles. In 1960, he purchased his first Pontiac and never looked back. At the beginning, he didn’t like the “farmer” nickname, but he quickly learned to utilize the name to lull his competition into complacency. After all, what could a simple farmer know of the world of high-performance drag racing? Throughout the 1960s, Arnie’s Mr. B's Passionate Poncho, Mystery Tornado, Star of the Circuit I and II, Tameless Tiger, and Super Judge all contributed to dispel the myth that a simple farmer couldn’t dominate straight-line racing. Arnie was an innovator, fierce competitor, entertainer and showman who always gave fans their money’s worth at the track. He is still brand loyal--sticking with Pontiac long after production models ceased. Arnie has always been a fan favorite for this reason, and he continues to exhilarate fans at the track with his cast of potent Pontiacs.
