Being an immigrant is both being "in-between" two cultures, that of the immigrant and that of the dominant group, and being "in-both" of these cultures. It ultimately means being "in-beyond" the two cultures together. In this book a group of prominent Asian-American Christian theologians reflect in an autobiographical form on how being an Asian and a North American has shaped the way they understand the Christian story. As the United States becomes increasingly multiethnic and multicultural, this book offers useful suggestions on how to meet the challenge of cultural diversity in both Church and society.

It is our hope that Wisdom Commentary, by making the best of current feminist biblical scholarship available in an accessible format to ministers, preachers, teachers, scholars, and students, will aid all readers in their advancement toward God’s vision of dignity, equality, and justice for all. The aim of this commentary is to provide feminist interpretation of Scripture in serious, scholarly engagement with the whole text, not only those texts that explicitly mention women. A central concern is the world in front of the text, that is, how the text is heard and appropriated by women. At the same time, this commentary aims to be faithful to the ancient text, to explicate the world behind the text, where appropriate, and not impose contemporary questions onto the ancient texts. The commentary addresses not only issues of gender (which are primary in this project) but also those of power, authority, ethnicity, racism, and classism, which all intersect. Each volume incorporates diverse voices and differing interpretations from different parts of the world, showing the importance of social location in the process of interpretation and that there is no single definitive feminist interpretation of a text.

Based on the critical conversations between education, liturgy, sociology, and theology, this book suggests an alternative eucharistic pedagogy for the Presbyterian Church of Korea by reforming eucharistic and curricular practices with attention to students' specific local contexts. This process includes the formulation of the definition of the new eucharistic pedagogy, the reconceptualization of concepts regarding the eucharistic pedagogy, and five steps as pedagogical strategies for a new eucharistic pedagogy for the Presbyterian Church of Korea including pedagogical guidelines for teachers and students. This book will open the door for further educational and liturgical discussions of the work of contextualization in churches around the world. Even though this study investigates a contextual pedagogy limited to the PCK, this task needs attention and study in a larger context beyond the PCK. The gospel is the worldwide truth that cannot be limited to a certain culture but becomes incarnated into each local culture. Therefore, this kind of contextual investigation between the gospel and culture will not be optional, but imperative to all churches.

People are moving to the margins of the Catholic Church. As one dialogue partner states, "I left the Church to beat the rush." Yet, another remarks, "I just wonder. I have to ask, who's on the margins? I'm not sure." Let Your Voice Be Heard details original practical theology research that endeavors to understand the dynamics on the margins of the Roman Catholic Church in dialogue with fifty dialogue partners from across the United States. Practical theology, the theology of marginality of Jung Young Lee, reciprocal ethnography, and the communication theory of Mikhail Bakhtin join in a cross-disciplinary dialogue. In conversation with dialogue partners, Joan Hebert Reisinger seeks the reasons why Catholics over the age of twenty-one who were once active and involved in the Catholic Church find themselves on the margins of the Church and how they understand their own marginality. The dialogue partners speak of new ways of being Church emerging on the margins. This emerging Church is marked by inclusive relationships that include dialogue that does not seek agreement or consensus, a critical and thoughtful recalling of memories and narratives of the Catholic faith tradition, and appropriation of these in new and creative ways.
