This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 26th Annual German Conference on Artificial Intelligence, KI 2003, held in Hamburg, Germany in September 2003. The 42 revised full papers presented together with 5 invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 90 submissions from 22 countries. The papers are organized in topical sections on logics and ontologies, cognitive modeling, reasoning methods, machine learning, neural networks, reasoning under uncertainty, planning and constraints, spatial modeling, user modeling, and agent technology.

KI2004wasthe27theditionoftheannualGermanConferenceonArti?cialInt- ligence, which traditionally brings together academic and industrial researchers from all areas of AI and which enjoys increasing international attendance. KI 2004 received 103 submissions from 26 countries. This volume contains the 30 papers that were?nally selected for presentation at the conference. The papers cover quite a broad spectrum of "classical" subareas of AI, like na- ral language processing, neural networks, knowledge representation, reasoning, planning, and search. When looking at this year's contributions, it was exciting to observe that there was a strong trend towards actual real-world applications of AI technology. A majority of contributions resulted from or were motivated by applications in a variety of areas. Examples include applications of pl- ning, where the technology is being exploited for taxiway tra?c control and game playing; natural language processing and knowledge representation are enabling advanced Web-based information processing; and the integration of - sults from automated reasoning, neural networks and machine perception into robotics leads to signi?cantly improved capabilities of autonomous systems. The 32nd Annual German Conference on Arti?cial Intelligence, KI 2009 (KI being the German acronym for AI), was held at the University of Paderborn, Germany on September 15–18, 2009, continuing a series of successful events. Starting back in 1975 as a national meeting, the conference now gathers - searchers and developers from academic ?elds and industries worldwide to share their research results covering all aspects of arti?cial intelligence. This year we received submissions from 23 countries and 4 continents. Besides the inter- tional orientation, we made a major e?ort to include as many branches of AI as possible under the roof of the KI conference. A total of 21 area chairs represe- ing di?erent communities within the ?eld of AI selected further members of the program committee and helped the local organizers to acquire papers. The new approach appealed to the AI community: we had 126 submissions, which cons- tuted an increase of more than 50%, and which resulted in 14 parallel sessions on the following topics agents and intelligent virtual environments AI and engineering automated reasoning cognition evolutionary computation Robotics experience and knowledge management history and philosophical foundations knowledge representation and reasoning machine learning and mining natural language processing planning and scheduling spatial and temporal reasoning vision and perception o?ering cutting edge presentations and discussions with leading experts. Thirty-one percent of the contributions came from outside German-speaking countries.

This volume of RSSSR contains several articles on spiritual development among adolescents, spiritual transcendence, Jung and pastoral counseling and spirituality and religiosity. In addition to this, a special section of nine articles is devoted to several aspects of positive psychology and its usage in practice.

Compared with data from general application domains, modern biological data has many unique characteristics. The goal of this book is to cover data and applications identifying new issues and directions for future research in biomedical domain.
